Good afternoon! It sure is pretty and empty here on Pensacola Beach. It is weird when I can retrace my exact steps from the morning report. Usually it is a mass of thousands of footprints when I do the last report of the day, but the beaches are so empty right now that only three or four people have come my way in the last 10 hours. Wow. The surf is of course flat. There are ankle high rights peeling over the shallow sandbars but nothing rideable or SUP-able. There is supposed to be a bump tomorrow, however the winds are going to still be offshore thus sending that 2.5' the wrong direction. I wonder what the beaches to the east of here will catch???
You wouldn't believe we had a Hurricane for the last three days by the pictures I just took of the ocean? The west wind that has been blowing for almost 24 hours has knocked all the juice out of the swell. Wave height at high tide is knee cap and not breaking on any sandbars. The OBX skipped Fall and went right into winter. Air temps this AM are 43 degree Fahrenheit. NOTE: WE WILL OPEN TOMORROW. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
