Corolla, NC:

Here is the latest as of 9:45 AM Saturday. Corolla (as you can imagine) has a big rough choppy ocean. The wind is blowing at 25 knots out of the ENE. My guess is that this is an outer band from Sandy. The high tide line came up about ¾’s of the way up to the dune. Of course wave height is in the over-head and out of control range. . Knee to waist high and building. Winds are light E early but will increase later in the day. Should continue to build over the next few days as Sandy makes it's way up the coast. Sunday afternoon could be real good. Check back for updates.

Pensacola, FL:

Good morning. It's starting to get cold out here. The air temperature is 60 degrees and the wind is blowing 12-15 mph with stronger gusts. The surf is totally flat. We will give you another report at Midday. Don't forget to go to the relay for Russo today at the Pensacola Beach Innerlight and it starts at 10:00 am. Also, tonight at 7:30 pm at the Rave they are showing the private screening of Chasing Mavericks. Lots of stuff going on today. Have an awesome Saturday.

Good afternoon! It is still very nice out on the beach. The winds are still light out of the ENE causing for glassy conditions. The surf is running knee to thigh high depending on where you go. I am not looking forward to the cold weather coming our way. Don't forget Relay for Russo is tomorrow at the Pensacola Beach Innerlight. Come support a very cool man in his fight with cancer.

The pictures tell the story so far…not much too report! The northern beaches have a ENE wind between 17 to 20 mph, small choppy surf and very warm weather. This AM's air temp is 68 degrees fahrenheit. The high water mark was only half way up the beach. I just didn't see any defined sections but surface conditions are choppy. The surf forecasters are calling for bigger surf around low tide (Noon). I will update the CCS surf report as conditions warrant. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
