Shoobie is a term used in New Jersey to describe a tourist who visits the seashore for a day. Shoobies are essentially a mixed blessing for local beach residents. They bring in enormous revenue during the summer months, but at the same time they add numerous obstacles and annoyances to day-to-day life.

Corolla, NC:
Even at high tide I was surprised to find swell breaking in mid-Corolla. I took these pictures an hour before high tide. At this posting we have very glassy conditions and the hope of waist high swell. Question: Should I go surfing now at high when it is glassy or what for the tide to drop but it could get choppy? I'll figure it out! NOTE: OUR SURF SCHOOL AND STAND-UP PADDLE BOARD IS WIDE OPEN. WE LOVE TO DO WEDDING PARTIES! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Pensacola, FL:
Good morning. It's a beautiful morning out here at Pensacola Beach. The wind is blowing out of the West at 10-12 mph causing for choppy conditions. The surf is running ankle, shin, to knee high on sets. Have a great Monday!

Cape Hatteras, NC:
in the 15-20 minutes I stood there , I saw one wave I thought was decent enough to ride. Long walls, mostly closing out, very inconsistent. The easterly wind does not help it at all.
