Excellent surf at some reef breaks today! The swell peaked this morning with double overhead + waves at the most exposed reefs, and very good conditions. Beach break was today a bit more surfable, but action happened at south facing points and reefs. Afternoon was windy and surf was again choppy and messy.
Good afternoon! It is a beautiful day out here on Pensacola Beach, however, I am not sure how long it will stay that way. Our afternoon thunderstorms are making their way out to the beach as we speak. It was just so pretty with the half bright blue sky and the ominous gray clouds creeping over from the mainland. There is no surf. There are toe snappers breaking at the pier that are being pushed in by the SW wind blowing at 9-11 mph. Ah, I am ready for some good fall surf. It's about all I can think about while we are waiting out this flat spell part of the summer. We will have you a report a dawn tomorrow! Have a great rest of your Thursday!
Good morning. What an awesome day out here at Pensacola Beach. We live in paradise! Go enjoy it. The surf is basically flat. The only place that had anything breaking at all was the Pier. The Pier had a ankle to shin high wave. The wind was blowing out of the SW at 5-7 mph causing for a bump on the surface. Magicseaweed is showing knee to waist high surf next Wednesday. It's a long ways out and it's the Gulf so as we all know it can change in a second. We will give you another report later this afternoon. Have a great Thursday.
I took these pictures a ½ hour after high tide. There is a “bump” at this posting but the tide is going to have to drop before you can go surfing in Corolla. My best guess is that we should start seeing some sections around 10:00 AM. Just find a shallow sandbar and you should be able to catch some 'rights'. Swell direction is well defined: coming out of the ESE, so all the goofy footers will get a work out: NOTE: PLEASE USE OUR ON-LINE RESERVATION FORM TO RESERVE YOUR SURF LESSON. JUST CLICK LESSONS. Good morning! The surf is flat here on Pensacola Beach. There are tiny West lines but nothing surf-able. The wind is WNW at 4 mph is causing for flat conditions. The tide is high this morning and the air temperature is 78 degrees. There is a 50-60% chance of rain today, but this morning has the fewest clouds I have seen in a while.
Good afternoon. The surf is running solid knee high. I did see a couple of bigger sets come through that were pushing thigh high. It has the best form that I have seen over the last couple of days. Looks like it could be fun on a big board. The winds are blowing out of the SW at 6-7 mph causing for semi choppy conditions. It's a great day to take out a SUP (stand up paddleboard.) or a big longboard. It would also be a perfect day to teach a kid how to surf. We will give you another report first thing tomorrow morning. Have a great Wednesday!
Sorry about getting the report up so late. A Stan-Up Paddle Board Lesson followed up with a surf lesson got most of my morning. I just got off the beach, so at this afternoon posting, I have to say it just isn't looking that good. I did see some quick shore waves but the wind is starting to pick and Corolla has a cross shore chop knocking down the already small surf.
