Good afternoon! It is a blustery day out here on Pensacola Beach. The winds are hard out of the SW at 16-17 mph causing for choppy, sloppy conditions. The swell is still holding strong in the waist high range. It's sloppy but it really does have some size on it when it comes through. Your length of ride will be short most of the time, but if you are desperate for some peaky, bigger than knee high surf...I'd say go out. There was a big thunderstorm coming on to the beach as I was leaving. It was rumbling out some serious thunder. The Pier looked the best. The Cross looked like it cleaned up a little bit from this morning, but I just can't muster up enough stoke to fight the walk into the wind with my longboard. You have a great Friday evening and we will have you a dawn patrol report in the morning!!
Good morning. Just got out of the water at the Cross. The surf is running knee to thigh high and ever so often you have a hip to waist high set come through. It's choppy and sloppy. The wind is blowing out of the SW at 17-20 mph which is causing for a current. There was a bunch of itchies out in the water today. Surf isn't nearly as fun as yesterday. It's still something to ride if you are desperate though. It was raining as I was leaving the beach. We went to 18th but the rain was coming down so hard we couldn't get any pictures or video of it. We will give you another report later today. Have a great Friday.
At this AM posting Corolla has an overcast sky, a SW wind and an incoming tide. Wave height is knee cap with an occasional thigh high wave. The 'X' factor will be the SW wind which has been blowing all night. I just don't want it to turn into a South side shore wind. Because of the wind, H2O temps took a drop by a couple of degrees. NOTE: REMEMBER: AUGUST 18TH, COROLLA SURF SHOP LONG BOARD INVITATIONAL. WE STILL HAVE SLOTS OPEN BUT ONCE WE HIT ARE MAXIMUM ENTRIES, WE WILL HAVE TO CAP THE NUMBER OF SURFERS. JUST GO TO OUR HOME PAGE FOR INFO ON HOW TO GET AN ENTRY FORM. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
Good morning! It's a gorgeous morning here on Pensacola Beach. The surf is knee to thigh high with bigger sets coming through. The wind is WSW @ 3-4 causing for clean conditions. Surf should stay up all day and through tomorrow however the waves will drop to knee or less tomorrow according to the models I have been looking at.
