an area of low pressure located about 1450 miles east of the windward islands continues to show signs of organization..and conditions appear favorable for the development of a tropical depression during the next 48hrs..this system has a high chance 60% percent of becoming a tropical cyclone during the next 48hrs as it begins to move westward at 10mph.

Corolla, NC:

We still have a big ocean w/a strong side shore current moving North to South. But I felt encouraged after taking pictures this AM that surface conditions might be cleaning up. The sections are almost makable and the wind might be backing off. Check your favorite break this afternoon. Still some little waves coming in. Waist high to chest high with the occasional bigger set. Winds are NNE early but will go more East later in the day. Looking like little waves all week.

Cape Hatteras, NC:

stormy, choppy, lots of current at the lighthouse beach this AM. frisco pier looks to be about shoulder to head high on the sets but is closing out. wind forecast to be NE at 15 mph. high tide around 12:30 PM.
