Cape Hatteras, NC:
high tide around 9:30 this morning. low tide around 3:30 this afternoon. wind is forecast to be north at 5 to 10 mph. the swell has dropped considerably since yesterday. the lighthouse is about chest to head high, motels and north of town is bigger. frisco has gotten small. a lot of water moving around this morning, the surf should improve with a lowering tide.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
high tide around 9 this morning with low tide around 3 this afternoon. wind forecast north at 20 to 25 diminishing some this afternoon. what happens when you stack several low pressure systems on top of each other? you get plenty of swell and plenty of current. pretty stormy looking at the lighthouse (first two pictures) and pretty doubled up and closed out at frisco (all other pictures)

Cape Hatteras, NC:
high tide around 7 this morning with the next low around 1:30 this afternoon. wind forecast northwest at 15 to 20 mph. the surf is well overhead on sets at the lighthouse today with the current ripping down the beach. report from frisco is shoulder high. in light of the tragic death of a visiting surfer yesterday, always be aware of the current direction when paddling out near hardened structures...ie piers, jetties......

Cape Hatteras, NC:
the tide is really full this morning. the next low tide is around 12:30 this afternoon. wind forecast is for northwest at 10 to 15 mph. the wind is blowing harder than that this morning and has enough north in it to put some bump on the water north of the jetties.

Cape Hatteras, NC:
high tide around 12:30 this afternoon. wind forecast is southwest at 15 to 25 mph becoming west this afternoon at 10 to 15 mph and then north this evening. the lines are pretty long and closed out this morning. the waves are running into the backs of the ones in front of them. hopefully the west wind will straighten things out some.

high tide around 9 this morning with the next low around 3:30 this afternoon. looks pretty blah out there today. drizzly rain. small surf and onshore winds make for a pretty bad combination. wind is forecast to be variable and then east at 10 to 15 mph.
