At 9:00 AM Corolla has a line of rains showers that might have isolated thunder/lighting. Wave height is stomach to almost chest high on the sections plus there is an incoming tide. Due to the rain, there is a semi-glass off but please don’t enter the water until the threat of lighting has left the area. NOTE: RED FLADS HAVE BEEN DROPPED. THE COROLLA SURF SCHOOL IS OPEN. The best surf I have seen all year! The wind finally turned off-shore (WNW) and at this posting, is blowing at 12 mph. Wave height is 4’ overhead. At this moment, we have clean sections. It is definitely high performance day and only experienced surfers should be going out. My guess is that most of the beach rescue services will continue to post Red Flags: NOTE: WE ARE SELLING OFF OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT.GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Corolla is still under Red Flag conditions. The ocean is out of control. Wave height is well overhead with no consistent breaks. We are at high tide with the tide flipping at 10:36AM. Of course the culprit is he ENE wind blowing at 25 mpg plus which is making for chopping conditions. NOTE: YES, WE ARE SELLING OFF ALL OF OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Water & air temps are matching each other @75 degrees Fahrenheit. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Tuesday might be the day conditions start cleaning up!! NOTE: COROLLA SURF SHOP IS OPEN!! We are still in the middle of Tropical Storm Hermine, of course the ocean is out of control. I took these pictures at Albacore Street right at high tide. From what I observed, Whalehead is not getting any over-wash. Wind speed is anybody’s guess. Corolla might be getting winds in the 50 mph+ but I have received reports that in KDH, wind speed has dropped. NOTE: WE WILL OPEN BACK TOMORROW! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

Thursday’s clean stomach high surf has turned into surface chop due to a ENE wind that might stay with us from 1 to 3 days. Current wave height is hard determine due to the 23 mph wind. Service condition are choppy. Water temperature is still in the high 70s, although air temp has dropped down to 76°. Corolla Beach Rescue is currently posting yellow warning flags. However if they downgrade to red flag, I will make an adjustment on the surf report: GARY, COROLLA SURF REPORT

The center of Hurricane Gaston was located near latitude 32.0 North, longitude 54.0 West. Gaston is moving toward the northeast near 6 mph (9 km/h).However, the tropical storm to watch is #8. This system is genertaing head high swell. The wind (at this posting) is coming out of the east. This menas that we lost our side shore wind. But Corolla Brach Rescue is posting red flags: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

The ENE wind that has been blowing for 4 days continues today. There is a little more clarity in the sections today then yesterday. Wave height is stomach plus and there is a chance there might be a strong side shore current running north to south. Water temp is 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The CSS crew is watching the south Atlantic. There are a number of systems that could effect surf conditions over the next 7 days. If there is any radical changes within a 24 period, I will post the info….stay posted!!! GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP

The OBX has a change in weather patterns. The wind is out of the ENE. The swell is out of the NE. Wave height is stomach to chest. But the wind is not helping, the sections are getting knocked over and there is a strong side-shore current running north to south: NOTE: WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY ON ANY OF OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT ANY DAY OF THE WEEK. A weak area of low pressure extending from eastern Cuba northward to the central Bahamas is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity. I took these pictures at 8:00 AM. Corolla has waist to stomach with an incoming tide, very warm water. The at this posting is currently off-shore. Surf conditions are just like yesterday. I would recommend taking advantage of the incoming tide and the current off-shore wind. NOTE: WE ARE STARTING TO SELL OFF OUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
