The rain storms have finally ended. Now we just need for the EHE wind to back off. Wave height is head high plus but surface conditions are choppy. There is a very strong-side shore current running north to south. There is an outside break (about 400 yards) but the wind is knocking over the sections. Corolla Beach Rescue has posted Red Flag: NOTE: ONCE THE RED FLAGS ARE DROPPED, COROLLA SURF SCHOOL WILL RE-OPEN. CALL US FOR LESSONS TIMES AT 252 453 9283 (WAVE).
The bigger surf showed up last night. We had a series of thunder/rain storms out of the North. Wave height is stomach to chest with very bumpy surface conditions. There is a strong side-shore current running North to South and a wind out of the North. The shop crew is waiting for the wind to back off & finally we have some size to brag about! NOTE: THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY BUSY WEEK. PLEASE STOP BY THE SHOP EARLY TO PICK OUT YOUR RENTAL EQUIPMENT. WE OFFER FREE DELIVERY IN COROLLA. GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
You have heard the word GROM...? Well, Chodes Mahoney hits the McKevlins 50th Annual DJ Gromfest at the Washout to ask people what they think the word "GROM"means.
I was expecting bigger surf! The wave prognosticators are forecasting bigger swell. However, at this 8:00 AM posting, wave hight is only knee-cap to thigh high. Current wind direction is out of the west. I will post updates if we have any major changes: NOTE: PLEASE USE OUR ON-LINE SERVICE FOR SURF LESSONS/SUP LESSON AND RENTAL EQUIPMENT: GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
