The OBX had a change in weather patterns last night. A heat lighting storm developed out on the ocean due to the extreme wave we have had for 4 days. This broke the high pressure system, caused a switch in wind direction and hepled drop the heat index. But the on-shore/side shore wind has chopped up the ocean. I would recommend for the tide to drop and see if you can't catch a quick practice wave. Good News: H2O is 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Our Corolla breaks just need for the tide to drop. Wave height is knee cap high and longboardable. I'm hoping the wind stays off-shore so that the waves keep their shape. Al you need is a rash guard, sweat proof lotion and drinking water. PSA: THE HEAT INDEX WILL BE WELL INTO THE 100+ FAHRENHEIT RANGE....DRINK LOTS OF WATER GARY, COROLLA SURF SHOP
Surf trip to Play Grande Costa Rica in May 2015. GoPro footage, with one wave from Cocoa Beach... the brown water and lack of any mountainous terrain may give that one away.
