Corolla, NC:

Great Beach Day but very small surf. I hoping that the incoming tide will help at a little juice to the knee cap high swell that we have at this posting. You will want to get your longboard out, find a well defined sandbar  and wait for the set waves. Water temp is 63 degrees Fahrenheit!! NOTE: THE COROLLA SURF SHOP CREW WANTS TO THANK ALL THOSE WHO HAVED SERVED AND OUR CURRENT ARMED FORCES THROUGHOUT OUT THE WORLD 

Avalon:

Not much surf today in Avalon again! We have a trace S short period wind swell in the ankle to shin, and if your lucky, a knee high wave. Conditions at the report time were already semi textured, and did not seem like enough for a shortboard or even a longboard. Expect the ocean to get blown out again by this afternoon by the winds. Although the surf may pick up slightly today with some sets coming in around thigh high this afternoon with choppy conditions. Winds already are SSW at 10MPH, so increasing to S at 17MPH this afternoon will not help conditions in any way. So it will get choppy. Try to get out as early as possible if you really want to surf.

Avalon:

Not much surf today in Avalon. We have a primary very small E wind swell and a very small secondary SSW swell making waves in the ankle to shin, and if your lucky, a knee high wave. Conditions at report time were already semi textured, and did not seem like enough for a shortboard or even a longboard. Expect the ocean to get blown out by this afternoon by the winds. Expect this swell to stay about the same through the day as the winds stay in the general S/SSW direction blowing up to 15 miles per hour this afternoon which will make it very choppy and disorganized surf. Weather: 73. Sunny. 0% chance of rain. Water Temp-60 High Tide- 1:00

Corolla, NC:

Beautiful Memorial Day Weekend!! Not a cloud in the sky and everyone is heading for the beach. Corolla still has a wind out of the ENE and swell is out of the Northeast. But wave height is only ankle slapper to knee cap high and surface conditions are choppy. But the ENE wind has helped to keep water temps in the mid-60’s. NOTE: WE RENT WETSUITS!! Avalon:

This morning in Avalon we have a very weak trace E/ESE Wind Swell again making waves in the ankle or less range.Winds are sideshore out of the North at 5-10 knots and should keep conditions semi choppy with the approaching high tide at 1:00 pm. Today seems even too weak for longboard even in the most exposed breaks.
