The "X" factor today is the wind blowing off-shore. Wave height is ankle slapper to maybe knee-cap high. My recommendation would be to check the surf once the tide flips at 10:30 AM. This might help to add another 6" to a 1' to the wave. You will definitely need your longboard. Water temps will be in the high 40's. NOTE: WE RENT BOOTS, GLOVES, WETSUITS AND HOODS. Good morning. The surf is running ankle to shin high at best. The wind is blowing out of the SSE at 6-7 mph and the air temperature is 65 degrees. We have a neap tide today so no real change there. We are not expecting the surf to build today but the surf models are showing surf for tomorrow afternoon. Whoohoo. Have a great Friday and we will give you another surf report at midday.
Friday April 11th, 2014. Surf was very good today in Santa Teresa beach and in nearby Playa Hermosa. New SW swell is slowly filling in and waves were in the chest to shoulder high range. Hollow and fast in the morning with the low tide coming up, and there were some nice barrel rides at the beach break upfront Blue Surf Sanctuary. Clean conditions and skies partially clouded in the morning, and overcast in the afternoon. Weather starting to change into green season and we had a few drops for the first time in months today.
