Where's the 'None of the Above' option? It makes people feel warm and fuzzy because they feel they have a choice. In reality, it doesn't matter who gets in. The country is controlled by corporations and special interest groups who have enough cash to lobby for laws that favor them. We need someone who can actually be for the people and have congress actually mean something again. Right now, the executive branch is basically a dictatorship and the power needs to be given back to congress and the people. If I had to vote, I would vote Ron Paul because there is some hope with him but I'm even skeptical with him.

I can honestly say that the last 36 years of my life hasn't been changed in the slightest bit by the garbage that has been in office over that time frame. Real change comes with the people forcing the government to represent them but we are in an age that people fear speaking out. That is really scary. Ok. I vote for any independent but they will never be allowed in the national debate because both the republican and democrat debate committees are the ones who control who is in the debate. The fix is in and these parties are the same. Vote independent for real change. Enough of me standing on the soap box. Sorry for the rant.

I wish there was a strong candidate running but no one really stands out. What I don't know is how people could vote for Obama again. He has shown to be a terrible leader and has done nothing good in his presidency except giving the order to kill Bin Laden. The economy sucks and he has had 3 years to make his "change" which he has failed to do. I was hoping he would of done a better job than he has but he has proven to be just another failure.

 

\r\nAhh the third party. Don\'t ever feel that you are throwing your vote away on a third party candidate. The beauty of the third party is who they change the political landscape. If you continue to let your vote get hijacked by these two equally worthless major parties nothing will ever change ... as in \"if I vote Libertarian Party instead of Republican I waste my vote cuz they won\'t win anyway and I\'ll make it easier for those d-bag Democrats to win\". Third parties are the only real sole force for change of political platforms of the big two... if they start losing votes and elections they will change their stand. Example: Late 1800s Reps. & Dems. had become virtually indistinguishable and no longer responded to the needs of the common man. Enter the Populist, Progressive, & Socialist parties garnering large amounts of votes. Never won the Presidency but their polices were adopted by the big two in the form of child labor laws, hourly work weeks, anti monopoly laws; the 16th, 17th, 18th (bad one no booze) and 19th Amendments. Heck Ralph Nader is a perennial third party candidate that has never won jack but has had more of an positive impact on your everyday life than most of these last few d-Bags (speed limits, seat belts, environmental issues). I can go on but you get the point change is possible. Remember Republicans were once a third party too (1850s) when the political landscape was in a deadlock between Whigs and Democrats...

Anyone who took office in 2008 would be going through the sam a s s pounding at this time, whether it was Obama or McCain or Paul or JHChrist his own self. In fact, prior to the 2008 election, a group of financial wiz-bangs, including Warren The Man Buffet met with Obama & asked him if he really, really wanted the job - - because whoever won was going to face an unrelenting financial shipwreck & attempted cleanup of unheard-of proportions.

Obama is intelligent. We don't need some featherhead like Painlin or some reactionary recluse like Paul in there to make things even worse. And, yes, it could get much worse than it has been.

Obama has made mistakes. The bailouts (begun by W, by the way) were straight up lame politics to generate voter support. The printing of money & buying of our own debt? I wouldn't teach that to a high school kid as to how to manage one's financial house.

Gut it out, bud. The tide will turn. But the man has to have more time to turn the ship around. This thing takes awhile to slow down & turn it, like an ocean liner.

Anyways, yah, as several have said: go surfing, it;'s all cool out there....

 

Chris Christie if he jumps in. Yankee....8 years of Bush=7 trillion as compared with 4 trillion in 2 years of Obama. That is unsustainable by any measure.

Yes things were in rough shape for Obama from the get go..but instead of governing in a way to fix things...he's governing like the idealouge (spelling?) that he is. I think most people realize that. If you believe his plan of large centralized govt is the way to go..then you vote for him. If you feel all warm and fuzzy for voting for "history"..then go ahead vote for him. Unless you're (people in general) a hard core liberal or totally blind as to what is happening in Europe I can't see why anyone would vote for "big govt, power from the top down, nanny state, give me your money, public union shake down" democrats. If you're a committed liberal/democrat you will vote for Obama anyway...good luck with that.
