high pressure to the north and low pressure moving up from the southeast... Not sure what you were looking at earlier today, but sometimes there can be a broad area of low pressure, where there is not one distinct center. I like to look at the GFS pressure maps from Unysis. I tried replicating these graphics for Swellinfo, but unsuccessfully thus far: http://weather.unisys.com/gfsx/gfsx.php?inv=0&plot=hght®ion=us&t=9p&expanddiv=hide_bar
Nice graphics on the above link. Looks to me like a tropical system heads up the coast. Probably a strong S breeze and generous amount of rain for Sat…………but a week is a long way off in terms of weather forecasting.
swellinfo...it looked like a small low pressure was forming off NJ with a bigger area of low pressure coming up from the south with a lull inbetween the two.
Ya, that happens right along the coast... Its just an elongated frontal system with a couple areas of centered low pressure systems.
Isnt this somewhat similar to the perferct storm back in the 90's? (although its not lined up the same way to make for that type of storm.)
