you know your a surfer when you bring back a thread that over 2 &1/2 years old and the last post in it was made over 2 years ago LOL
...when a hurricane passes off the coast and you have to dawn patrol the morning you get married, get changed for the wedding in the parking lot, and have your wife tell you at the conclusion of the ceremony you have dried up slat snot on your face.
1. You know your a surfer when you have this conversation. (Talking about hobbies) "So, I play baseball, golf, snowboard, surf, football and.." "Wait wait wait, surf? Where? Jersey? Waves? ----This was a constant when I was in college. 2. You know your a surfer when you have about a inch of sand on your floor mats in your car and choose to leave it there. 3. Always telling yourself you need less rubber than you actually do "3/2 in 55 degree water with 40 degree air, 3/2 baby!" No put on the damn 4/3 with boots and gloves and be warm! 4. Calling off work for a decent swell. (DO NOT tell your co-workers/boss that you surf!) 5. Loving it when you meet a fellow surfer when your out of town, but if meeting a new surfer in the line up not so much 6. Always wanting to buy new gear I guess that's good enough for now
... when you check swellinfo and other surf websites 20 times a day hoping that some decent swell will get to town soon.
When you don't show up for a regular weekly activity (hoops) and they all just assume that there must be waves.
When a commercial comes on TV and all you see is the wave in the background... and can describe it in detail... "Three foot and sideshore at low tide... could be fun on the incoming if the wind shifts a bit."
HAHAHAHAHA, real good LB, i do it all the time. Like "dam that was def. rideable - looked fun and pretty open"
You know your a surfer when your loved ones (who don't surf) check the surf forecast before planning family get togethers to make sure you actually show up.
Oh dang! You know your a surfer when you dont talk about how your a surfer and people still know you surf.
You know your a surfer when.... you mind surf any type of wave. Even if its a 2 inch wave on the shore of a sound, bay, lake, pond, rain puddle, or ocean for that matter. -or- if you have melted wax in the bed of your truck. mbkevin - your post above this one is so true
