Kooks usually stay kooks their whole surfing career. Less experienced surfers arent always 'kooks'. I have seen kooks who never changed and always floundered. I have yet to have seen one progress beyond 'kookdom'. Kooks are the guys you overhear at a bar going "yo bro it was chest high and shackin at c-street this morn" when you know damn well it was flat as hell.
