Aww man, if you insecure stand - ups need to bash spongers to make you feel good, y'all go ahead we can take it.

Gay? Hey, I bet that Lostsoul dude tells his wife he's going surfing then hangs out at gay book stores. Surfing is his beard. Dude, it's ok you can come clean.

OMG, you guys all pack together clinging for togetherness. Well, this is for all of y'all - sponge or big, glassy, shiny shortboard......spread out....First come .....first served........Stop packing together. I lived in North Carolina for a few years, so I'm allowed to say, "y'all."

Five-year-old Canadian girls can stand on a surfboard, and the best surfers are 5'2'' alcoholic Aussies..What does that tell you, huh?..And a bunch of you didn't get the hockey comment, but that's ok. Most stand-ups aren't that smart, especially North Jersey stand-ups. South Jersey will rise again.

No one should drop in on anyone. Kick them in the genitals. Well, it's ok to drop in on North Jersey guys. OMG, LMAO......I'm burnin' up with fever and I'm with child......I feel like I'm trapped in A Little House on the Prarie episode...OMG remember when Albert was hooked on morphine after he left the prarie for Chicago.....He turned bad....very bad. Ok, dudes..........

surfing is difficult.tom morey invented the morey boogie.he made it so everyone and anyone could ride waves the first try.he invented it because surfing is too difficult to do for the average person unless they put in a lot of work practicing for a long time.you could argue, but you'd be wrong.the morey boogie is easy to ride waves on for anyone the first try.the 'guitar hero' of surfing

Um.... people from Nebraska go to Hawaii and rent tankers.........and ride waves their first try. A bunch of y'all have confused dedicated sponges with tourists riding whitewater to the beach. And that hurts, not just my feelings, but I'm sure Kim Kardashian's as well.

I've seen a picture of Mick Fanning, surfing hero, riding a thick head-high mutant on a sponge. He had a death grip on the nose, was going straight and his eyes were bugging out of his head like Charlie Sheen with a seven gram rock. Not too impressive for something anyone could do. Jeff Hubbard would have made love to that wave. But, if y'all want to pat yoursleves on the back and think you're better than everyone - y'all go right ahead. I'm very pretty because my mommy told me so...very pretty....so I am confident in my ocean exploits. OMG, I don't even wear a leash and lets face it most of you guys(youse guys-for you North Jersey types) would drown without leashes. You'd all be drowning, luckily it would be during the summer and the lifegaurds would save you. "Bob, it's after 5:00 you better not going surfing, the gaurds have left for the day." YEAH !!!! OMG...OMG....OMG......LMAO.....LMAO.......LMAO............that's for all the kids out there. I speak your language.

Thank you......It's ok.......I've seen your types.......You tell the wife, "Hon, I'm going surfing tomorrow morning,ok?" Then (South Jersey version) you sneak down to Atlantic City or Egg Harbor and hit those book stores......wearing your Billabong sweatshirt.....Indicating to potential gentlemen callers that you are a surfer, therefore totally *****en. Hmmmm, what if you were a sponger? Could potential suitors notice or even care?

Alright shredders I'm sick as heck.......didn't even bother seeing if the waves were any good despite the wind.....so if you guys want at me, rub it in that I might be missing some historic Jersey wind beat-downs.....I need some better waves, this place ain't doing it anymore. Anyways, I feel horrible and I'm going to watch Leave it to Beaver. Hey, Lost soul you be good and good deal taking things light. I'm all about comedy so don't any of youse guys(N-NJ) get all uptight......Remember this is all supposed to be fun.....and an adventure.....a fringe of society pursuit. Don't get angry at any type of board - get angry at those who treat the ocean as some hobby......the new weekend thing to do......Keep surfing underground, be as dirty and scary to the outside world as you can.

I bodyboard because I love the water. I used to be a die hard water skiier from the age of 7 and when I suffered a serious back injury I was forced to give it up. I have also tried to surf and due to the nerve damage in my back I don't have the balance that I used to. For me it was about being in the water and not about trying to impress anyone. I'll admit that it has an easier learning curve than surfing. Just like snowboarding for me had an easier learning curve than skiing. It doesn't make one better than the other it just means that bodyboarding like snowboarding for me was a better fit. You have kooks in everything be it surfing, bodyboarding or on the local mountain bike trail. You will always have people that are out somewhere that is above their ability and that maybe doesn't even know the the first thing about how to behave in the line up. I just tend to stay away from the crowds and worry about me. Afterall the last time I checked it was a pretty big ocean.

No. I am banned by the state of New Jersey from drinking. I have never been prescribed medication except from these guys hanging on the corner in Camden, NJ. But I'm not sure if they were legit or not. I don't know. I might need to see a shrink. OK, let's hit on a new topic......someone start a Short vs longboard thread.........or Why I hate SUP's......hey are there any kneeboarders left..........let's get at them too. How but air guys vs rail guys.....Southern California vs Southern NJ(notice how the two states are shaped the same...uncanny).

I started BBing because I lived 2.5 hours away from the beach and wanted a quick learning curve...fell in love with the ocean and riding waves, and after like 4 years I left my bodyboard at the beach and realized that I had wanted to surf my whole life. Bought a surf board a couple years ago and never looked back.

So as a BBer turned surfer, my unbiased opinion is this. BBing is better because you're closer to the wave, enhancing the experience. Smaller waves like little waist high closeouts can be a hell of a lot of fun. It's also cheaper. But overall surfing takes the cake. You can generate speed, duck down to get into small barrels if you have to. It's possible to have style. And it's not any more expensive if you buy used boards.

Again, I implore you guys who think you can shred the sponge because you suck at surfing, to submit a video of you sponging. I've seen pro surfers sponge and they aren't very good at it. Hmmm. Everything looks easy until you actually try it. To the inland masses surfing looks easy. Do y'all really think that popping up to your feet is that difficult and only a few enlightened souls can master it. And the art of balance? Tourist go on cruise ships and can ride that flow rider thing. To those talking about coordination, what are you talking about? Get your Webster's Dictionary, look up coordination and explain how stand-ups posess it and spongers don't. Go ahead. Any good sponge could surf. Surfer Mag ran a thing some years back where Pro Boogie Ross Mcbride and the best surfer ever Peter King switched boards and had a comp. King made tourists from Pittsburgh look impressive. He couldn't do anything. McBride rode a "real" board with no problem.....even landed a little air. Two major surf mag editors were injured and started proning it for a while. In their articles you could tell the were stoked on the sponge but wouldn't embrace it because OF THE IMAGE. Surfers today are ****gonized sheep.........idol worshipping sissies. I have never been more proud to be a sponge. I can't wait until the water and air warms up so I can see some of the uber-talented surfers that post on this site. I'm sure most dudes on here are summer surfers, they're usually the one's with the self-esteem problems. Why do I have the feeling that maybe 10% of you guys are competent surfers. I'll throw more spray than you, float longer, smack mo heavy lips and bust bigger airs than all y'all. And guess what, you couldn't do what I do on a sponge anytime soon either......Prove me wrong........No more tough talk.....Action.....grab those sponges and lets see visual proof.

Kitesurfing blows surfing away... no question. I'm not talking about the guys who just go in and out, jumping waves. I'm talking about guys who actually surf waves. More speed, more power, bigger airs, harder turns, no limit to size or wind, access to inaccessible waves... and the good guys are getting barrels now.

Kitesurfing vs paddle in surfing? No contest.

And hey, I let myself get angry on that past post of mine. I usually don't really care about what other's think. But I just know the types that are ragging on sponges here. They are insecure and they need to put others down to build themselves up. Most people are posting from New Jersey, give or take a few states north and south.......and there are NO Spongers here. So they shouldn't even be an issue to these people. Hey Zues(that's Jesus in Spanish) I haven't seen another sponger in years. Yes, I know there's a few around Jenks.....and Cape May but they aren't an infestation.......so don't worry about sponges just keep trying to be like Dane Reynolds, ok
