Have you guys seen this thing? Looks sick! I keep seeing it on wblive and I checked out the site and it seems to hold way more volume than it looks. A 5'6 holds something like 36 liters. Its a cool shape too. I'd like to get a custom replica since its the type of shape Ive wanted for EC waves. Anyone ridden/seen one? What do you all think about it? Here's the link... http://jsindustries.com/surfboards-v2/pier-pony
looks similar to my Tommy Moore Slop Rod, which is sick. I cant imagine paying $600+ for that thing in poly. The board is thick, and if you were to get one for groveling in small surf you should go epoxy, makes it super bouyant, and much lighter. Honestly the Slop Rod design with the bump wings is probabluy quicker to turn being as it breaks the rail line at the tail right before the fins. [/IMG] I have time of this thing and its sick. The Slop Rod "Deuce Coupe" is currently being developed for R&D we are going to and "step" rails, to get the rails thinner for better turning performance but with the step rail we can keep the thickness thru the middle of the board for bouyancy. We will add forward vee thru the nose also to help the rial to rail transitions before it rolls into a shallw singleto double with tons of Vee thru the fins like the original Slop Rod. The Slop Rod is a sick groveler, outperfoms the Biscuit, the Fishcuit and the lost plank which i have ridden all of those multiple times.
I used to have an old GFG that was shaped by Tommy and it was a great board. How much did you pay for the rod? I haven't ridden any of those boards so Im trying to get a good understanding of the pros/cons. Step rails would be awesome! Im diggin the artwork you got goin. Is it a 5 fin convertible...and whats the thickness?
