I was enjoying the warm water at the beginning of the bertha swell but i went out this morning in my springsuit only to realize that the water temp had dropped significantly overnight. Rather than biking up to the beach to check the temp before I go out, is there a site that I can check that has an accurate daily water temp. Im in LBI, NJ
what suit to where Ive been having to wear my full wetsuit everyday for the past couple days or maybe two weeks, and its hot in that. why cant the water be like, 80 water temp. i just want the water to be warmer.
I like 63ish. Cold enough where people don't stay in, but warm enough to bear with. Anything over 73 is too hot for the ocean.
im going to have to agree with tbing. the water is definitely bearable with a 3/2 but the kooks and the boardshorts crowd are too cold to be in the water. i just had an epic evening session in LBI. no one out and light offshores. but i would still like to know any sites that give an accurate reading because i like surfing in the springsuit if i can
Surf Unlimited usually does a pretty decent job of reporting water Temps.. they are in LBI... They generally update 9am, and like 3pm I think... Its an average temp, but theres alot of warm waters/ cold water swirls going around so it totally depends on your spot. but its a good guesstimate. http://www.surfinglbi.com/surf_report.shtml
It seems to have warmed up some this morning. We've been on a roller coaster though for the last couple of weeks.
your right I guess your right. last year i loved it when it was real cold. Me and my friend were the only ones that were body boarding.(I used to body board)
Thats because there has been a lot of piss floating around from the tourists, europeans, benny's, and even SHARKS!
