After breaking 4 ribs (more like Shattered and puncturing small air sacs in my lungs )on a 3 foot wave during high tide,I can see how easily things happen. My board took a nose dive and dug in the sand.I followed with my back with no forgiveness.Pretty much put a hole in my WRV from the pressure.Put a hole in my wetsuit and a hole in my back .A few inches from my spine.Walked in the ER,wetsuit and all. Came real close to having a flail chest which could of killed me.Thank God Im still here. Was in the hospital for a couple days.Got insurance but it was a $30,000 bill.Crazy thing is got this on vid.

Showed friends and family but never posted it online. In the vid everything happened so quick.I originally thought it was a closeout but wasn't.Wave just took a weird crumble on me.I paddled in good position to catch the wave. Just a freaky accident.I was back in the water 2 months later. My wifes cool with me surfing again but I take some heat from alot of other people for getting wet again.

that article left me with more questions than answers..

i wanted to surf witehall today, there was a decent bump.. but was getting bad vibes thinking bout the story, ended up surfing allenhurst with 9 sup'ers instead.. i hope in light of this story the city will start rebuilding lost stairs from Irene.

i now know that he was in the water, drown, it was flat, he was a beginner. so its not from the stairs. and i feel you out on the bad vibes thing, i went surfing 2 hours after i pulled the dead guy out in nica! that was sketchy

Hey !!! The Press of Atlantic City is a very cute periodical. It's no Philadelphia Inquirer, but where else are you going to keep up with latest activity in the 800 Block of Maryland Ave ? Plus they always print letters from the same seven elderly dudes who think life should be a Leave it to Beaver episode. Those clueless right-wing phonies are always good for a chuckle or a paper throwing, expletive laden rant from hell............My mommy says I have anger issues and I should go to anger management classes. AS IF !!!

Yelling at the TV or some 85 year old doesn't make you crazy.....or angry. I only get angry at BAD people. My dog thinks I'm nice.......
