just wondering how often everything gets in the water and how far their commute is my drives like 40 min and usually only get out once a week.
Commutes My commute in ct is about 2 hours and im lucky to get out more then once a week there. Luckily, I worked my life around the waves and became a waveslave in north carolina in order to surf everyday (i suggest you do the same, wife, kids, job, school all not a big deal if your a true surfer) Unluckily, wrightsville beach north carolina has real waves once a century so despite my 5 minute commute from the beach and being in the water everyday I'm still surrounded by tourists in boardshorts clogging the lineup (on or off their foamboards) Im shooting for becoming homeless once i get my degree and finding a nice third-world nation where i can make a cabin on the beach somewhere so my commute will be nonexistent. 5 mins is still too far.
Just disappear to Tahiti and build yourself a little shack in a hidden cove where you wake up to 2x overhead every morning, also make your boards out of trees and driftwood.
10-15 minutes & I try to get on it most mornings if there's wave & some evenings especially this time of year when the days are longer. Probobly average 2-3 sessions in a good week
15 mins and about 4-5 times a week. Summer time it's 2 mins at my beach house and just about everyday unless it's complete Assssssssss
My commute is 65 miles from home to work....but only 6 blocks from home to the beach. I do 2 to 10 sessions a week*. *In FLA at the mercy of the waves.
3hrs and 15 minutes. It would be an hour shorter if Delaware had somewhere to surf other than the Naval jetty....too bad they ruined Indian River. Starting in June, I'll average 2-3 sessions weekly; July will be almost daily between Cali and the east coast. Aug--Nov will be biweekly. I manage to go to a lake 5 minutes from my home to paddle for an hour several times weekly.
privileged enough to say 8 blocks. in the water almost every day if theres a bump; shortboard, longboard, and skim gets you riding as many waves as possible
Just across the bridge from Manteo to Nags Head.....five minutes tops. Surf an average of 3 times a week, usually in decent to good surf only and mostly dawn patrols.
depends on the break, closest break is 20 minutes from my house, but the break i usually surf is 30 minutes away. Try to surf 1-2 times a week.
10 minute or so car ride to nearest shred sight in Jacksonville. Alot (surprisingly). Sometimes Longboard sometimes shortboard but 13 of the last 21 days since returning to the east coast. The consistency is nice but the overall wave quality blows.
5 minutes by vehicle, only get out when the waves are bumpin. Having a revoked driving license hinders this too doh!
about 7 minutes if i make the bridge. once or twice a week but sometimes not for up to three weeks because of no swell. i ride a wavestorm when its small, which is a lot, but i ride real surfboards too. its a pretty rad lifestlye
on the road again... 49.3 miles to sunset from mi casa......50 mins if i get a passenger (HOV lane) on a weekday or if i am alone on a sat , 1.5-2 hours if i'm stuck alone on a weekday, esp if there is an accident. twice a week during school year... unlimited during summer and breaks.
2 hours for me. I average about once a week, sometimes more when there's swell and sometimes less when it's flat. Working on making the move to Southern NC hopefully this summer, then I will be in walking distance.
5 minutes. I hop on 264 E or take Laskin Rd. and I am at the ocean (not necessarily my spot). I surf around 3 times per week. I work day shift so I don't get many mornings except for my days off which leaves me with limited leftovers.
