Hey, so I really need a small wave board. All I have now is my Firewire Quadraflex. Great board but not for summer conditions. I really think I'm sold on the Lost Motivator. But where would I even go to get one?? I'm a little ify about ordering online so I'd must rather get it in a shop. Also what size should I get?? I'm 5'11 and 190lbs. I've been surfing for 2 years. Intermidiate skill level. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Expecially on where to go to get this board?!?! :/

See my post about the sharpeye disco I bought. Similar to the dumpster diver. Best board ever. It really is the answer to small surf. Surfs slop and small waves the same as my high performance potato chips on an overhead day

I've had a dumpster diver, mini simmons, coil m80, rocket, wombat, spitfire, dominator, sweet potatoe, quadrafish, and now the motivator.... the motivator has been the best small wave board I've had. I ordered it from real watersports in the hydroflex tech. Its amazing. Email trip foreman at real, he will take great care of your order and email you with updates on your boards progress weekly. Best experience with a custom order I've ever had!

How much did it cost after everything? And how long did it take before you got it??? neither of these are a big issue for me, but I am curious.

I think it was like 680 and 5 weeks. I wanted the hydroflex tech, otherwise I would have gotten one off the shelf at a local shop. You can also get it in the hydroflex supercharged tech which allows you to adjust the flex characteristics of the board.

Yeah I have the lost motivator too and it is fun. I had it out in like shoulder high clean waves days after katia and it performed great... I was expecting stomach high that day and only brought the motivator.

Sharpeyes website and ci both have the full tech breakdown on them both. Basically it is a board that Dwayne Reynolds had al merrick buil for him for lower trestles a few years ago. Dwayne won the event and was shredding all over lowers ridiculous hacks and cut backs with huge airs. Then al slightly modified the shape and they went public. The dumpater diver name is because Dwayne pulled the foam for the original board out of the dumpater t Al's shop.

I would almost argue that it performs better even in good surf than any short board I own. And I own a ton of them. The thing is sick. It literally rejuvenated my surfing. I've settled for riding a bulky quad fish on small days and those boards conflict with my style. I'm into speed surfing, rapid turns And the most dramatic angles I can manage and if it presents itself an air here and there. So while I love my quad fish at certain spots, when I'm trying to cruise and be mellow, but the disco board lets u rip apart a waist to chest high wave like your at trestles on a head high day.

My post in this forum from last week has more details, photos and feedback on fins etc that worked for me. Hope this info helps.

i got a fat thruster 'small wave' board a few years back and as i've gotten more comfortable with it, i've taken it out on bigger and better days. i love the extra paddle power and float and once i got used to the fuller rails and flatter rocker i rarely touch my regular shortboards anymore. i tend to size these boards more like a regular shortboard rather than 6-8 inches under like recommended. ymmv..
