Hey guys, a friend of mine from out here in Rockaway Beach, NY runs a charitable organization that holds paddleboarding events to raise money/awareness for MS. He just put a facebook page together and wanted to try and expand the exposure by networking with like minded paddleboarding/watersports enthusiasts... so I figured I would post here. This doesnt cost anyone a dime and he doesnt see a dime from this and often eats much of the costs to run the programs. If you have a minute, check the page out and if so inclined... "like it" if you're interested in hearing about upcoming events. www.facebook.com/WestEndPaddlers thanks Mike Fitz
Yeah def. Dennis is a surfer first and foremost. But he's getting up there in the years and mixed with the flat spells we get he got involved with SUPs and other paddle boards. The events he organizes has long boarders and every other type of boards and kayak and such. I think primarily he wants to and enjoys giving back, as they say.
My girlfriends uncle has MS, and in the past few years its gotten really been bad. He can't even make it to family events anymore. Nice page!
Seems like the older I get the more families I discover are dealing with things like this in their inner circles. Dennis (the guy who started/runs the organization) has his share of battles on this and other issues. But sometimes the right attitude can create good from bad situations. I think its pretty cool that he draws on the ocean to help give back... thanks for checking out the page!
