Some fun chest - head high sets at long beach this morning. A lot of aggro in the water though; people at lincoln need to chill out.

I know people say this alllllll the time, but I'am truly convinced with such terrible flat spells in the summer, that the people who run this site, bump up their little swell charts so people continue to check their site. I know I know "forecasting is very fickle for Jersey" blah blah blah, "why dont you do your own forcecasting." But it is a very oddly familiar pattern. Swell a week from now, and then as the days continue to tick by the "swell" diminishes. Maybe I'm just tweeking cause its been flat forever............. Or maybe SWELLINFO is tweeking (swells) cause its been flat forever.

    Strap them tin foil hats!

I dont know about you guys but I check the charts everyday regardless of waves in the long range or not. This whole "its for regular web traffic" is bs. Sooo guys, you know when there are waves coming, and thats when you get online to check? Just to make sure? WTF?

^^ Negative..... I check and do my own research, knowing to not just rely on one site. I knew this swell was going to be sh*t, even told my one buddy the trip down would not be worth it, and truth be told I WAS RIGHT! And wrong "web traffic" is not B.S. not even close.

Also A LOT of these people dont check charts everyday (like me and you). They only check THIS site, and once they see that little blip on the swell chart move, they constantly check it until they are disappointed again.

LOL...You realize the owner of this doesn't "create" the forecast, but uses a computer model that spits out the data right? Forecast has been good around here lately on this site. If you follow snow storms during the winter the models love to have a low 7 days out and then it disappears. It's the models. Accuracy is limited 7 days out. Take it more as a "possibility" anything further than 3 days out.

I understand that "web traffic" is not bs and is good for a site but I cant see Micah changing a forecast just to get our sorry a**es on here everyday. Thats what I meant by bs.

I got out at 2pm at a spot that's fairly consistently more rideable than most other breaks around. The buoys were reading around 3'... maybe more... and hard south angle. So I knew there had to be something. It was semi-glass, semi-clean, and about thigh high, but with solid belly high sets. I surfed for about an hour and a half, and when I got out a friend who lives in town said it was better earlier... chest high sets and offshore. I believe him, because I know this spot actually breaks better at high tide. The peak shifts away from a jetty, but is a longer, cleaner wave.

So say what you want about "bs" and "web traffic" and all your conspiracy theories... If the buoy is reading 3' out of the south, you just gotta find a spot that's working. And it helps if you know your beaches and tides, and have the time to get to where you think you have a good shot at scoring something. I've had the good fortune to surf this spot for about 10 years, and a few years ago, actually named it here, and got flamed for it. So... sorry guys. You'll have to do the legwork yourself this time.

I really hope someone is paying you to act so completely stupid. You're obviously tweaking(this is how you spell it correctly) because you have a neurotic fixation problem... kinda like how raccoons react to shiny objects. It's really funny you have fixated on something as trivial as people's habits in obtaining forecast information, in a completely anecdotal and self-righteous way at that! This leaves everyone else to question your true motivations as to why you even bothered to post at all.... other than to beat your self-professed, far superior super duper uber surf forecaster chest. Then you throw in some inane conspiracy theory as icing on the cake. Get a freaking grip man!

I know this trivializes your narcissistic disposition and it may lead to a meltdown between your 4 remaining brain cells, but someone needs to point it out DookBarrels: you're being a whiny little beetch kook troll. STFU and go away, most on this site can do without your idiotic and baseless "input."

dont know where in mc your surfing brudda...it was ****. ur bro sounds like he's full of it too. We've all heard that line "it was better earlier".
Face it boys, swellinfo was wrong. this site is wrong (for my area) more often then not. what swellinfo did was pack every single break that i checked with jokers from ny and pa.

GASP....a forecasting site that is occasionally wrong..the horror. tell me something i don't know. go to accuweather or weather.com and see how many times they are wrong. WAY too many who come here are little b!tches who feel entitled to waves because mummy and daddy have a 'place'. Nobody is forcing anybody to use this site which is only a tool. SI, weather, and personal forecasting/local knowledge should all be used to make the call.

as far as packing breaks for sh!tty waves, GOOD. maybe all those people who came out of the woodwork will get jaded and quit surfing!!! If that happens SI did us a HUGE service.

it's the most wonderful time of the year! Things should start thinning out soon as all the 'bros' head back to school.
