I don't know about everyone else, but I've gotten some great sessions in from Topsail down to Ft. Fisher every day since Saturday and a different spot every day. It's been a long time since I've been surfed out, but I'm feeling it now! Now, if only we can find a way to inject some Funky Cold Medina into the tropics and get some storms coming up the Gulf Stream.
it hasnt been that amazing here in vb. had a good one a few days ago until i got attacked by the sea lice or jelly. i did surf dam neck for the first time yesterday for some thigh high clean peelers and it was amzing to say the least. i will probably surf there from now on. its like a mini obx
Charleston had solid waves Saturday through Tuesday and we were able to surf a variety of spots. Tuesday was my favorite day, we had a big storm come through with a good bit of flooding. I made it to the beach right after the bad stuff left and had a great rainy session. I'm thankful that I'm either oblivious to the threat or we don't have the same issues as other places surfing after a rain. Some of my most memorable sessions have been in steady down pours.
I loved that place: small crowds... check showers... check free parking... check women with their husbands oveseas... check... j/k
Damn thats impressive charging those peaks on a 9'6"! Saturday evening and Sunday mornign there were some beasts rolling in at Topsail, saw a few that were def head to slightly over. Rode my Diamond Tail 5 box as a quad and loved it. 1st chance I've had to try it in some juice.
I'm surprised you didn't drive up to Pawley's. I have a buddy down there who told me the groins were all-time. dlrouen--I didn't hit CB proper at all, I would have been giving you a high five had I seen you. Surfing one of the places I'm not going to name (but is an island North of WB and South of TI) I was pissed at myself for not bringing the Simmons.... But I will never make that mistake again!
