BY: Adam Kredo September 13, 2012 1:20 pm U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo. Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.” U.S. officials have yet to confirm or comment on the reports. Time magazine’s Battleland blog reported Thursday “Senior U.S. officials late Wednesday declined to discuss in detail the security at either Cairo or Benghazi, so answers may be slow in coming.” If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states. “She did not defend U.S. sovereign territory and betrayed her oath of office,” the report states. “She neutered the Marines posted to defend the embassy, trusting the Egyptians over the Marines.”

I heard today on the news that they caught the guys responsible for the attack...my first thought, "well, that's great, why the f*ck haven't they put a bullet in their head's yet?"
I wonder if the state department can really tell military personell whether they can carry live amo. Sounds fishy to me.

You're owned yet again. For the record, kid: Dictionary.com says the word refers to "a person who habitually pretends to be something he is not". The Merriam-Webster dictionary notes that the term was also used to refer to a "person who pretends to be what he or she is not" or an "insincere person". The Encarta dictionary states that the term is used to describe a "pretentious person" or "somebody who tries to impress others by behaving in an affected way". Many individuals misspell the word as poser, which by Merriam-Webster's definition is either "a puzzling or baffling question" or "a person who poses" as if for a portrait. Dude, really, I know that it gets slow in your office on Fridays & you're chomping at the bit. But try not to talk about things above your pay grade. It's pretty disillusioning, watching our 'leaders' from both sides of the aisle do whatever it is that they are doing. I thought it would get better as the decades went by. It seems worse than ever (both political parties) what we, the taxpayers, are receiving.
