I am in the same boat sending applications ect. I live right outside of Atlantic City so Stockon is a little too close to home for me. But for others Stockton is nice. It is a little smaller but there are many different surf options only 20 minutes way. A lot of kids do leave on the weekends though. Even though I have been to stockton a few times already. Also I sent applications to URI and UNCW so we will see how that outcome is Rhode Island is a pretty sick place and my friends really enjoy it up there.

use college as a tool to travel and experience new places. i'm assuming you can afford it if you're considering UNCW so why not go somewhere on the west coast or hawaii? the frequency of good swells here is pretty bad compare to most places, but even if you think you like that you should still try a new area. life is about adventure and college is a good time to explore whether you're into that or not.

Good memory Erock. Like Erock said, many kids come here and are kooks, many are burn out surfers me and my friends like to call "woodstock". Then theres the frat douche that thinks he surfs and uses it to get with sororistitutes, then theres the people that that just surf, like me. theres lots of us here. it's cool especially this week since we have this swell coming this weekend, half of the computers in the library are either on swellinfo or surfline. Cops bust house parties like it's high school all over again, don't go to sandbar - it sucks. its a great school. im a finance major and its very competitive. Girls are hott, but it seems like most of the really really really hott girls don't go out at night since I never see them. many of the sororities are dumb and gay, but there are some hunnies. Better than most schools. plus they're all nice which is real weird for me because coming from Jersey a girl could be like a 5 but be the biggest B itch in the world. I live on WB and i love it. Glad I go here. Just got out from surfing like 20 minutes ago surfing a sandbar to myself wearing just boardies, epic sunset, super fun waist-stomach little funky beach break. Stoked I go here.

I Went to Stockton after 2 years at Brokedale CC in monmouth. If you want to have fun, I highly recommend it!
    Plus:
20 minutes from AC. If you live on campus, its sooooo much fun! or do what I did and rent a house in Brigantine and put a mini ramp in the living room
Easy courses and cheap if your in NJ
    Not Rowan ;)
Theres some good waves in south jersey/lbi
    Minus:
    It's still NJ

College is short, don't cheat yourself. Def get an education and do an internship. O yeah, thats another plus. The casinos are a great place to work. Valets make 80k a year at the borgata I've heard.

Also, you can get lucky and win a lot of money and move to san diego...

YOu need to start the club back up! We had it thriving in 2007-2009. Bake sales, Custom T's, designed by members, Trips to NC and RI. WEST Wetsuits for everybody! Stockton feeds you money to do contest and beach clean ups and junk. You just need to get 2 advisors to back you up. Get on it!

I live a stones throw from you. Went the Brookdale route and I'm commuting to Monmouth now.

Personally, I love it but it's probably not the popular opinion- commuting. Monmouth is expensive though commuting really saves a lot and I probably wouldn't be going there without a generous scholarship either.

I'd recommend Monmouth U or UNCW. I have a buddy at TCNJ who hasn't seen the beach since the day he left. I personally went to Brookdale by choice and I catch most swells. The work does pile up, though, and I've missed plenty of good days. Just food for thought.
