I admire and am forever thankful for the military veterans of the United States of America. They stand guard and protect us so we can continue to enjoy the life we have been provided. Again, thank you U.S. Veterans.
<U.S. Veteran. 60% active duty related disability. <Jobless. I wish people would actually hire veterans. 30 applications....4 interviews....still need work. ugh.
For real? I hate competing with veterans for government jobs... just kidding ...kind of... hope something comes your way & you got some waves on your day from the son of, twice grandson of, nephew of, three time bother-in law of, and husband of a veteran...thanks for all you do
Dude, I'm looking for ANYTHING!! Really surprised I haven't been able to find work. By the way those 30 apps and 4 interviews were all just last week. About to send in 20 more apps, and follow up on them. 25 years old - All I do is surf and workout. (How lame right?!) Boredom is killing me, and I need monies...like bad. lol
Pro, Have you thought of school? With the Post 9/11 GI Bill you can get the monies you need pretty fast and steady as long as you're enrolled, further your education and build your resume and still have plenty of time to surf. I hated high school and Im loving college. If you need any info or guidance just ask, My brothers and I, our wives and a couple friends are all post 9/11 vetrans who have returned to school. Next semester begins in January and registration just started. Good luck
I wish!!! I had prior student loans that the military paid off instead of getting the GI Bill. Finishing up school, unfortunately, isn't an option til I have $$$. Thanks though - I got a friend who is doing that now, and I'm more than jealous.
I was on the same boat for over a year back in 08. If you have a lot of free time, I suggest you do some volunteer work. It'll look really good on your resume. Have you tried joining the American Legion, VFW or the Marine Corps League? They can Help you find a job. I Know the VA can also help you find a job.
Big Thanks to all Vets! And HUGE Thanks to the National Guard troopers doing ACTIVE service on the NJ coast right now.
Are you willing to relocate? i work with construction companies( weatherization) that have made a commitment to hiring people who have served. one company hired a marine as an installer and he moved right up the ladder to crew chief then to crew manager. he runs three crews now. i gotta say he is one mission oriented MF and a great team leader. a wish every contractor i work with had someone like him running the show. if your interested i could point you in the right direction. can't promise they will hire you and i won't give a recommendation cause i don't know you. but its better than nothing.
No experience with surgical software systems unfortunately pumpmaster. When I was in the service I drove a $6 million rocket/missile launcher. Not too practical in today's "real world" jobs....lol That could be pretty cool. I need work. Spoke with 20 company managers today for all sorts of jobs. Everyone is "accepting applications" and not hiring. FMLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! (Sorry for hi-jacking this thread btw)
