Is Route 12 repaired yet, can you get to Hatteras going south from Va Beach with a 4 wheel drive truck? Also are you wearing 4/3? with or without boots? Thanks for any help
Do you really think some of us have as short memories as you? Shall we take a short walk down memory lane to some of your more recent self-righteous rantings? Gaff: You know, I aim to please!
HAHAHA your a clown bud. I guess you said some stupid ****, and I called you on it. You're not witty, and nothing you said was even remotely funny. Glad you feel like you're "getting me", but really your comments mean less than nothing and really you are just wasting your own time. Keep on aiming to please dudes, as I'm sure that's about all you're good at.
last time i had heard highway 12 was open only to 4wd vehicles havent heard anything else. Probably be 6 months or more till the road is completely repaired for 2wd vehicles
4wd access only from about 1/2 mile north of s turns all the way to rodanthe. Ruts can be pretty deep at times also. Seen regular size 4wd such as navigators getting stuck. Water is 4.3 with boots and thin gloves, hood on chilly days. All this can change on a moments notice of coarse.
Thanks for the positive feedback. Wow so its would be hard to even make it to Rodanthe. Surfline and Swellinfo both put the water temp at 60 plus, which I don't understand.
Parents just bought a place in Rodanthe for a rental pro[erty and have been driving down to work on the house. This past Wednesday they closed route 12 completley and hope to have it repaired by by Christmas. There might be days wehre they will let you go down, but its not open like it was a week ago. You can still get in the Ferry line near Manteo to get down, but the wait can be 2 to 3 hours+ By the way I refer to booties as "boots" but only in combination with gloves. Such as "do you need boots and gloves" I use booties when they ar not combined with gloves Such as "I just bought new Excel Booties". The boots/booties comment is meant to be sarcastic and to interject some humor to some lame forum argument going on in the above post. See T Browns post above for rubber choice he is spot on.
Yep, there's that self-righteous flapping I was talking about. As far as OBX, why you don't have a 4x4 built for driving on deep sand if you go there remotely often is beyond me. Talk about limiting your access even when the roads are perfect!
Well the water changes down there quickly, . The water in summer can get tinot the 50's overnight due to tides, upwelling etc. The water is fickle, but 60* water and air in the 40's and wind blowing hard requires a 4/3 generally. 4/3 is a safe bet, get a little warm just let some 60* water in the suit, it will cool you off enough.
Why don't I have a truck that is built for deep sand? Because then I would be limiting my access to vagina, since chicks don't dig pick up trucks. Stop commenting, your an idiot
So, remind me again where your values are? Did you not start this thread because you want to surf South of Rodanthe? I guess, in your mind, the only people surfing around the washed out areas MUST be pickup truck drivers who never get any clam.... Tell me again who the idiot is...
OK, a few things 1) I created an account specifically for the reason to reply to this thread, I don't typically participate in online forums although I do appreciate some of the information they can provide at times....this NOT being one of them 2) Being a local, it's frustrating that certain websites can create unwanted exposure to the beaches I cherish the most. Obviously anybody who knows anything about East Coast surfing understands the significance of surfing in Hatteras. But that doesn't mean that they should create a thread that allows every person new to the sport an inside track to one of the best breaks on the coast. And certainly not when they are immaturely bickering back and forth about things as simple as boots vs. booties and pickup trucks not getting p***y. Some stones are better left unturned for the masses. Let them discover things on there own, there's plenty of info out there. 3) Just going by looking at a handful of your posts (imbetterthanyou). The boys and myself def don't want to surf with you. So if you come down make sure you wear your username on your back so we can pick you out of the crowd. We'll welcome you properly 4) Boots or Booties, dont matter 5) Pickups pull plenty of tail 6) On second thought just don't come down. Hate for you to get trapped down here once the wind starts blowing and the road/ferries get shut down
I usually rely on ole Nessie, just sayin' I just wasted 2 minutes of my life reading this thread, only one response with actual information, the rest a juvey pissing contest. Good show, gents.
Pretty much what I was getting at. PS: My beach buggy is an old Land Cruiser, not a pickup PSS: I wouldn't call it bickering, just Monday humor. I.W.B.T.Y got a little pantywadded unfortunately. PSSS: live aloha.... You get what you pay for
