I am tasked with getting a new board for my brother from his wife and I need some advice on buying. I found a nice board from one of the premier shapers and want it for him. I usually buy on craigslist or in store but since I live pretty far from any shop, I didn't know if anyone had experience ordering new boards from online... where to go, what to look for with shipping costs ( I live in Baltimore). Pretty much I want to buy a CI board online and don't want to kill the budget, Thanks in advance for the help.

http://www.surfride.com Free Shipping. looks like a good selection of CIs. However, I have never dealt with them before.

Free Shipping On Orders Over $79

That's right! Enjoy free Standard shipping on orders over $79.

This offer is valid for orders shipped within the contiguous United States. Some oversized items such as surfboards do not apply. Excludes sale items. May not be combined with other offers.
I stand corrected. Should have kept on reading...

call a local shop in Md. CI dealers aren't hard to find and I'm sure they will take your credit card info on the phone. Have bro's wife pick it up and boom, free shipping.

Lee probably has the best advice, but now I'm on a mission. Dog Funk does have CIs with free 2 day shipping. I put a 6'2" Dumpster Diver in my cart to make sure it ships free and it does. Same prices as surfride.

Does it have to be a CI? East of Maui in Annapolis carries some Ricky Carrolls. He's a premier east coast shaper and you know it'll be hand made.

Otherwise, I would expect to pay around $90 for S&H. When I had some boards made by a guy in San Diego I had to go pick them up at BWI, but it was only $50.

Fells Point Surf Co. is located on Thames Street in Fells Point. Very cool shop & definitely worth checking out. They may have some deals flowing or maybe someone is trying to sell a stick for RAVEN PLAYOFF TICKETS!!! Good luck, homie.

Just go to Channel islands online shop on their website, free shipping and most boards are like 100-200 dollar off. Check it out.
