One year I counted 120+ surfers at Maria's in Rincon PR... imagine that. Locally in Jersey I've seen 40+ inbetween 2 jetties in Monmouth. That Blows!
some places can handle a crowd better than others- multiple take off spots, less critical sections, etc. pipeline is super critical and isn't very spread out.
Loch arbor is a disaster in summer......Maria's is a disaster too in winter unless there's some size, but still out of control.
Here is the report from Marias this am.. Daily Rincon Surf Report - Comments Sunday, January 13, 2013 (1-13-13) 9:30 am We have surf in the waist to chest high range with head high sets here in Rincon this morning. The super high tide is making most spots weird at the moment. Still plenty of waves, just wait for the right one. The problem is that 100 other people are waiting for that same right one too so there is several people on each wave. Yay sounds like fun!
Dont know if anyone has seen this but it would sway my vote for sure
I think that video shows Rincon, Ca. a bit more crowded than Maria's in Rincon PR. But only by a little
Was at Loch Arbor today hoping to grab some of the 2 foot messy waves coming in. Most waves were 2-3 foot. Keep in mind this is January. When I arrived there was 15-20 people out. For mid winter slop! Luckily they all sat on the same break while I took the next break down to myself
