Surf Club is in Ortley Beach not Seaside. I went to see Bad Fish there 2 years ago....What a mess.....that place is soo overly packed you can't even move.
This is a no-brainer. Besides Sublime, Slightly Stoopid is the real deal. Badfish is so lame...they're merely a cover band, and a bad one I might add. I don't understand why anyone would go see them instead of Stoopid. I'll be at Stoopid tonight with my crew, can't wait!
Hey gents I was just pointing out that they were going to be at the surf club cus they have a big following. I don't listen to either band. I am more of a Parkway Drive, Devil Wears Prada, Dillinger Escape Plan, Old Poison The Well ext. type of fella...
security at stone pony was so low they took 20 joints from me and my friend and it wasnt like obvious because we packed it in cigs and kept them in the box so they guy like opened it and took one out and saw the top twisted and was like HA NOTHING GETS PASSED ME! and like that totally bummed us out the whole night and pepper put on a better show then stoopid i wish stoopid picked bettter songs to play
ive been waiting since f**kin May when i got the tickets for the show on sunday stoopid is coming to the 930 club in DC in october
I agree that nowadays, Pepper puts on a better show.. Stoopid have done a little to much touring with Dave Matthews and I'm afraid it's rubbed off. You can tell by that album chronchitis. Except for the first couple of songs, that album really sucks. The lyrics are pretty lame. IMO, they've been going downhill ever since the Everything You Need record. I saw Pepper with the Expendables at 9:30 last year and the Expendables killed everyone. They kicked much ass.
sickest concert went backstage met pepper and stoopid i got in uchecked cause i knew the manager get real high and slightly stoopid smoked a joint on stage ****in amazing and some toolbags kept moshpiting during slightly stoopid
Yeah, Stony Pony security are infamously hardasses. I was kicked out for underage drinking multiple times (back in the day), and they're like dogs when it comes to sniffing out weed on the floor. I don't have hard feelings though, 'cause I've seen them kick out plenty of drunk benny morons, much to the pleasure of everyone in the club.
My crew and I brought in a few J's and had no problem...you just gotta know how to bring them in. Inside cig packs are no good anymore. We did our thing once we were inside and had no problems, you just go to the right spot, keep an eye open and you're cool. Stoopid was sick. Psyched that Half Pint came out with them as well. I know it's apples to oranges, but anyone who thinks Pepper was better is crazy. Pepper is an average band at best....they try to be too much like Sublime and it doesn't work. The only reason why they get any cred is cause they're from Hawaii. While Stoopid is also very much like Sublime, they have carved out their own niche with the acoustic sounds mixed with the reggae and punk stuff. Touring with Dave Matthews isn't why they sound like they do now....they have said in interviews that they develop most new songs on acoustic and that's what they play when they're sitting around at home. Ever hear Acoustic Roots? That album has been out for a long time now, way before they opened for DMB.
both were sick in baltimore i think pepper were better entertainers cuz they were ****in hilarious. i met miles from stoopid which was ****in awsome and i got his autograph. he said they are probly gonna be at 930 club 2 nights in a row in october like the 23 or something and pepper got booked for the recher in towson on the 25th. i also didnt exactly pass this drug test i had the morning after thier bmore show.....
Last Sunday's concert was great - 2nd time seeing Stoopid at Pier 6 in Baltimore. One year ago we went to see G Love, but Stoopid was the star of the show. Lot's of good multi band jammin'. The following day's surf was a real let down after the show.
Just my opinion, but stoopid was pretty boring in Baltimore. I don't smoke weed though so maybe I was missing something. I lost interest after two songs and eventually left. The other bands were definitely more entertaining. While I like the newer stoopid album better than Chronchitis, this new style of theirs almost has no elements of why I got into them in the first place. I thought that Everything You Need was amazing. Perhaps it's the lack of hip hop beats on the newer records (maybe???) or to many damn horns making them sound like a SKA band on some parts and elevator music on others, but I just find them slow and boring and all their songs are about weed. You're a band that smokes weed.......we get it.
