This is absolutely the worst forecast ever 2 days of knee to waist high waves in a month.. Get me outta here!

Yea... really need a solid swell. This small weak stuff we've been getting just isn't scratching the itch. I still like surfing when it's small, but how many thigh high dribblers do you need?

O’ how I miss those first days of my kookiness…
When being pushed into a wave was a reason to live,
When riding the white water on your stomach was cause to smile,
When staying up for more than three seconds justified a victory stance.

O’ how I miss those first weeks of my kookiness…
When dropping in on my knees still counted as “dropping in”,
When accidently going down the line meant total triumph,
When catching the reform three times on one ride stoked me so much I couldn’t sleep.

O’ how I miss those first months of my kookiness…
When standing on top of a three foot wave scared me,
When six hours of trying plus six rides equaled ultimate success,
When I called myself “Queen Nose Dive of the Clan Flounder About” because that’s who I was.

O’ how I miss that first year of kookiness…
When wiping out on a big wave counted as surfing,
When just making it out in a hurricane swell meant the world was a better place,
When nothing felt more beautiful than my kook-poop-stance going left…again…for some unknown reason.

    O’ how I miss the kookiness…
When “Wooooowhoooo”s flowed freely from me,
When nothing about me was embarrassed.
When I didn’t even know what kook meant.

O’ to be a kook again.

Beautiful poem! Mahalo - really sort of made my day! :) Hoping for a rideable wave tomorrow morning with the 27 degree weather here in Va Beach so I can feel the stoke!

This forum could really use some Gruvi right now. It would be nice to have the Gruvinator in here.

It was flat forever. Over the last week there has been some nice waist high waves and me and others have been out having a lot of fun.

If you want big days and that's all that appeals to you, move to the other coast.
Otherwise grab a longboard and enjoy what mother nature so generously gives us. It could be flat.

I don't think anybody's complaining about having fun, ridable waves. But it would be nice to pull into a few tubes.

Really, swell5? Scroll back a few Januaries in the photos section. Looks like we've gotten at least a few good swells every January for the past couple years.

Isn't surfline premium the pay site? I'll take the one that's free and sometimes off, than a site I have to pay to use. Really I could take a 5 minute bike ride, but I know not everybody has that luxury.
