there is a problem with this thread.... the title is wrong. We are not discussing the board designs of Fake Roy. but we are discussing the absolute nonsense of what he charges for a board.
so the title of this threat should be renamed to something more appropriate... like "discussing Roy's insanity."

I am not too concerned with what other people think of my board,. I make them because I enjoy spending time in my shop and making something I can use. I give them to friends if they need a board. Not trying to impress anyone I just wanted to show what a board made from cedar decking with knots looks like.

This thread should end because its pointless right now.

Hey man I thought your board is beautiful and a work of art. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise (not joking).

You could change the discussion by sticking to the topic.

There is no evidence of insanity in any of my posts or activities, and you should refrain from making defamatory comments. Do you understand what defamatory means?

Hmm, another builder of wooden boards wants to stop my boards from being discussed and decides on everyone else's behalf that it is a pointless discussion.

    Not good form at all.

Roy you dont come into a room of people who probably know more about surfboards then you do and tell them you have the most advanced surfboard with the most advanced price tag when your board is no better then what the ancient pioneers of the sport were using.

You will never win anyone over unless you make something worth the price, or lower you price to say about 750 to 1100 bucks. tops.

I was also thinking about a reasonable price for these things... a good deal of work DOES go into them, and the materials and process will be expensive. I bet he could actually sell a few if he priced them closer to $2500. I mean, I saw someone drop that on a hardwood dresser in the mall the other day. $500,000 is just crazy. ANyone who has made that kind of money hopefully has the sense not to blow it like that.

They know a lot less about surfboards than I do, most of the design comments on here are seriously sub par.

Value is up to the maker and buyers to decide, it's an individual perception.

You incorrectly assume that I have not sold any, and you sound like a communist.

No doubt you are upset by Damien Hirst selling a round piece of plywood with simple graphics done in house paint by one of his employees for USD$1,000,000 so I suggest that you contact the seller and advise him not to do it again for the sake of future buyers.

Unlike Hirst's work mine is grounded in functional efficiency.

It's so much easier to bang on about price rather than physics and design isn't it?

I kid I kid. but seriously... you're really annoying with this surfboard stuff of yours. Its like you're trying to tell us the world is flat.... or that women who can do math are witches...

You allege that I have said something which is false?

If so please elaborate... in terms of physics I'm correct by the way.

Being annoyed by alternative design rationale... especially when it eliminates the spurious and concentrates on the vital aspects of wave making performance is silly... especially so when you are free to ride what you like.

You sound like the fellow blowing it while trying to act as a self appointed 'enforcer' in the first wave of this video.

I'm going to apply the Roy Stuart business model to my STUD service. My semen will now sell for $500000/ tadpole. They have been engineered with much physics and rocket sciences and drug abuse such that they are unique to all other semens. They have mutated such that I have had to encase my nads in titanium to prevent getting every woman pregnant within 6 mile radius. Titanium is very expensive and itchy. Each sperm takes me over a year to craft. I am holding clinics to help other, but far inferior men, make their semen as cool as mine, and we are also looking in mass production of my sperm in china. It's a simple matter physics. If you are the 1% with more cents than sense, my nads await. We won't get into how my semen will bust right through even the best eggs out there, or why walking the nose is for inferior humans with weaker sperm.

Roy wishes you all the best but observes that when the intellectual strain of being rational becomes too much the herd members take the conversation down to potty humour.

Roy, the videos show me one thing... you are not a very good surfer. Not because you can't walk on the nose... even though you cant, but you look like you are going to fall on every single turn you make.
Now tell me, are you losing your balance because you are a bad surfer, or because the board is not a good surf board? Or both? But it can't be neither.

sorry, I got lost when you called me a communist. The boards are cool but we all think you are nuts, and it is just wrong what you do to those poor rich people.

You are mistaken, not only because I almost never fall off, but because the video evidence shows excellent balance and control.

Rode 40 plus waves at the point yesterday without losing my board or falling off, while many other supposedly good surfers and a respected local shaper were blowing it...and I frequently receive unsolicited compliments on my surfing ability.

In short you don't know what you are talking about.
