Well despite being scolded by some people on the website for asking if i could man up and get in the water despite not having boots, I did. For about two hours on Friday. Me and my buddy went out around 1:45 and man it was sight for sore eyes. Unfortunately it seemed like the size died within the hour and the winds changed up a bit. Definitely much bigger than i thought we were going to get I managed to take some pictures before we got in the water and after. Even though i couldn't feel my feet within about 10 minutes of entering the water i scored some real nice waves. So Happy, anyway else get on it? as the day progressed and sun finally came out it seemed like more people started floating in.
Nice pics, glad you got in and scored some...couldn't get out of my driveway until yesterday so this was a miss for me.
Some good shots but I don't think all these are from Saturday. Unless they tore off and built new rails on the entire pier in the 2 hours you were out?? Not to kill your buzz though, good on ya for getting in! I went out at the pier late Friday arvo and had a blast! Wish I coulda made it out there Saturday too.
oh wow i didnt even realize these are from friday the 8th hahaha ooops!! id edit that but i dont think i can.
damn right. i surfed friday saturday sunday. They were all fun if you were out at the right time and place. I dont even remember when the last time i surfed 3 days in a row with some fun size waves pushing through. definitely needed that!
gotta say Friday was pretty fun around 2 with some thick shifty little wedges coming through around low tide. Sunday was lining up really nice with some long glassy lefts and rights. I plugged these two days of waves into the wave algorithm machine. It said this bumps my winter rating up to 6.2 for Va Beach.
yes, good times. I rode my log the whole swell and got some great ones. If only I had a roy stuart board it could have been epic. One day.
did anyone else have trouble droppin into waves? when i was out around 2 the winds were howling and literally made it so much more difficult to get into the wave, that and the huge amounts of spray were blinding. i loved it.
