I was just checking out longboards today, and was reading about wooden boards. A quick search brough me to "Roy Stuart" surfboards. They looked nice until I saw the price. Here is an example for 1.3 million! http://www.roystuart.biz/p/dragon.html Is that the actual price of the board or am I misreading. Has anyone used these boards? I've never heard of them and never heard of a professional using them. Do they actually sell these boards for so much? Are wooden boards always a lot more expensive?
See other wonderful thread. He is serious, the only positive reviews come from people you have never heard of, and the only videos of the thing show Roy in a goofy suit and helmet ski-surfing on some beautiful waves, very slowly.
Worth every penny! Best boards in the WORLD! All others pale in comparison. You're a kook if you don't get one.
you know, i have a lot of respect for roy as a craftsman & for sticking w/ what he believes is best, even in the face of all the criticism & mockery he faces. i don't agree w/ his design theories, but that's another story. *discalimer-this is a serious post. no sarcasm has been used in the typing of this message.*
