ya, medical waste showing up in avalon new jersey causing beaches to close.

This isn't going to help the "Dirty Jersey" reputation!

I'm more worried about getting shacked and then coming out worse than a voodoo doll.

I have on 1 or 2 occasions seen this first hand in OC Maryland as well. It makes you wonder what else is in the water. Several times I have seen dental floss and other items which I figured were flushed down someone's toilet, discharged, and then floated back to the beach. :(:(

ya i was on the beach the day it happened it was really weird the beach tag checkers were saying that weird stuff was washing up like needles then right when i got in the water they closed down the beach. Then on sunday, when they said it was safe to go back in the water, i went surfing on 21st and when i came home i turned the radio on and they said more had washed up right after i left.

Supposedly the NJ Attorney General is offering a $10,000 reward for someone who can rat on the person/company responsible for this waste. ;)

i've found a handful of needles this summer at brick beach but i just figured theyre part of the natural scenery just like the creosote/rotten fish/sewage smell in seaside and the smelly light brown foam line that has been marking the high tide line for the past week

Last September a few weeks after Labor Day medical waste like tampon applicators, vials, and real hypodermic syringes washed up all along Ocean City NJ and nobody blinked an eye. One measly mention in the paper. People were so nonchalant about it but now that waste has washed up in Avalon its all over the news and The Press of Atlantic City has run a story on it every day. Possible motives for the attention may include a summer season wash up pissing off rich vacationers in an uber wealthy and pretentious resort town. Congrats on exposing this ecological travisty media!

I remember that **** man, they tried to make it seem like it never actually happend.

And they will NEVER catch the people who did this. They would have to offer a lot more then 10,000
