Chipped\Dinged fin?

    Has anyone dealt with this before? I've never fixed a fin before what is the best way to go about repairing this?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br /> IMG_5325.jpg

    I mean it 's not gonna stop me from surfing it, but Its pretty brittle in that area now. Just trying to fix it so it doesnt get any worse.

    today the area that holds my fin cracked and i lost my fin in the ocean

    take some sand paper to it to smooth the curve. that small of ding should not have much affect on fin performance

    Rough sand the area, then back the flat side with tape and paint some resin on the foiled side so it puddles up a bit in and around the chipped area. Pull the tape when the resin goes off. Now you have enough material to get the original template back. Sand it down and fair it out. You may have a bead of resin around the tip, and that's ok. Ideally, you want to restore the original template and foil.

    If anyone ever finds a JC1 carbon fin, it's mine. Lost it on the same day I bought the set.
