Seemed like the forecast for today in OCMD by swellinfo was quite the April Fools. Supposed to be clean with west winds, instead choppy with south. well played swell info, well played.
Morning in north OCMD was nice and clean on 4/1. Winds started off calm, then picked up from the west. By mid-afternoon, more south in the winds and definitely more chop. Size in the morning was nice too with the incoming tide. Definitely down a notch in the PM. I had a blast in the morning from about 9 - 11am. I watched a guy surf the same sandbar around 3pm and the quality of surf had definitely gone down. I thought the forecast was pretty good.
Exactly, warm rising air over land cold heavy air over the ocean rushing in to fill the void. Spring always means clean mornings and slop afternoons unless a strong enough front pushes through with winds strong enough to over power the local wind.
SI was spot on for us up here in Mon Co... waist to chest in the morning with light offshores, windy in the afternoon and deep with the high tide... belly high perfection before dark for the evening glass-off.
