Does anyone think the CP will be up and running by hurricane season?!?! I'm starting to go a little bit crazy without it..
do you miss the jet star, the fastest ride on the boardwalk? we're all sick about the pier, but there are other good waves uncrowded with good sandbars right nearby, dummy.maybe they'll make a better pier with an even better break, like it was in the 70's/80's before they added to it and it never was as good as before.but yeah,it is a heartbreaking part of this whole sandy nightmare.
Yeah, I know what you mean man. And there is a silver lining to it all. I have been surfing a much larger variety of breaks now that my favorite one is gone. It's just I used to surf that spot so much I know all of it's ins and outs ya know?? Its not the same surfing other spots. The comfort level is just not there.
& it's not going to be, ever again. not to compare the 2 in any way, shape, or form, but my favorite spot down here was centered around an old, derelict fishing pier. sandy washed it completely away, leaving only 5 battered piling behind. it was upsetting to see that b/c i grew up in the shadow of that pier & learned to surf there...seeing it washed away was basically the final blow to my childhood. but the silver lining of it all is that both sides of where the pier once was actually work far better now. it's still sad to see those 5 lonely pilings, but the break itself is better than it has been in a long time.
