Woulda been nice, agreed. Unfortunately, the entire project may have been Photoshpped by The Techno Gnome. I have this unshakeable image of The Gnome, dressed in an orange jumpsuit, sitting in a basement somewhere, fast food wrappers strewn about next to the remains of his mystery protein shake, little bits of filet o' fish stuck in his Methusalah-like facial covering, shrieking maniacally as he pounds away on his sticky keyboard, posting increasing amounts of drivel on the various surfing forums, reaching out to more people than he ever could have reached in pre-Internet days, and then waiting until dusk to make his forays out into the open.
If nothing else Roy has ignited passion deep inside you, yankee. He has emboldened your spirit. Your literary prowess shines so brightly with your new muse stimulating you that it's become uncontainable. It's bursting out from within you, a geyser erupting against the pressure of the world around it. Sure roy is hypocritically self righteous and delusional, but just let me bask in the glory of your words and phrases. If roy is a giant smelly turd, you're a compost pile. Taking the trash of the world and turning it into the most precious gift of all, laughter.
You are in stellar form, Yank! Brew: I had no idea Steve was posting on multiple forums. Haven't looked at Sway's in a while, I assume that's one of the other forums.... mind outing him?
I find myself more apathetic to be quite honest. You're simply the medium upon which we are witnessing the master work.
Steve, we can put this to bed with a click. I can drive out to N. Chas snap a pic and be done with it.

Yes! It is easy to end all suspicion. I would also drive to Folly just to surf with him. Heck, Steve, I will even buy you a beer at Folly Brewing after the session.
I'm not on Swaylock's but after reading those, count me in the "Steve is Roy" category. Steve, I sincerely hope you're real and make me look like an idiot. Though if Steve is Roy, and I've followed 16 pages of this thread (plus how ever many pages in the original thread) reading more of Roy's trolling, I'm an idiot anyway. Answer the bell. Let's get a 3rd-party photo.
This is all too funny, been saying it from the beginning, one... big... troll... job. A funny one at that.
I think the funny thing about this entire Roy surfboard thing is.... I can't figure out what his intentions are... as a surfer board builder.... I guess he wants to be known as making the most advanced surfboard with wood?? Ok, maybe he could be considered as something like that... but the board is not advanced in my opinion. Its just a really big board and according to Rarick, it doesnt turn at all. as a business man.... he probably would be considered a failure.... I mean I probably sold as many surfboards as he sold this past year.... and I don't sell surfboards. lol. so... what's left? I guess he just likes to argue on surfing forums... I guess he's pretty good at that.
Just want to be clear that I'm w/ the original group of disbelievers as well...if I'm wrong and Steve really exists I'll stand corrected. *Evidence can be found in steve's original thread, "A Roy Stewart inspired surfboard". *Nice gnome pic!
With his complete lack of tact and business sense, I don't think he cares if he is a businessman. I also side with those that believe he has never sold a single high dollar board. I know he has sold plans, as people on swaylocks have claimed to buy his plans. He may have sold some boards that were more in-line with normal wood board pricing. I think his whole goal with all these posts and threads, is to get his name and website out there for more people to see. If enough people see it, someone with the cash may buy a board. There is a sucker born every day. In this case, in only takes one sucker to line his pockets. It is an interesting tactic, and it makes me feel dirty just talking about it. As for Steve, part of me hopes that he is not real, after reading the swaylocks posts. He is very angry and aggressive in his defense of Roy. I think his work looked great, and would love to see his other boards, but it just seems strange for someone to randomly show up on a forum and start arguing with old school designers like he has been doing this for years.
Great pics, I read the book Longboarder's Startup by Doug Werner which featured the Roy Stuart boards along with some great info/tips. I was "learned much" about trim on take-offs
