I'm new to this conversation. So what are these legitimate "studies" and "articles" you cite.

There is nowhere to go for the "truth". IF you're using the govt to base you evidence on then you're sadly misdirected. If you're using some "private" organization operating on a govt grant...again, misdirected.

My best advice is to take all forms of media/info and try to decipher what's real and what's propaganda. Who's paying for it? Was the study to fortify some pre-existing paradigm? Is it real science? Global warming is a common example of "scientist" skewing data or omitting it to fit there paradigm.

Question Everything!! and NEVER believe the corporate media/govt account of anything!!

You wont hear any argument from me about that brother. I'm an evidence - based guy like you are, and agree with just about every scientific statement you've made. I just dont see any evidence that the amount of misinformation decreases when the debating starts, and actually think it might ratchet up their enthusiasm.

Do you have one of those "Monster Energy" stickers on you vehicle?

I can just see it now. You probably can't get it off cuz it's stuck...so you're like "whatever..i'm all in on the GMO thing now that i can't get this radical sticker off my whip"

All jokes aside: How can you not at least question the safety of the GMOs. No "real proof" needed. The mere fact that corn and alfalfa and soy are genetically modified to contain the common pest fighting ingredients of Round Up should be enough to question it, no?

Expecially when monsanto says.."no, don't look at that, look over here at the study put out by the govt that says GMO is fine"

    ?????? Puhlease!!!!

Hey, consider me Switzerland here. That means nuetral...

Why is the government trying to poison us? What are they going to gain from it? If they wanted to reduce the earth's population(which is A-OK by me) there are quicker and more effective means.

Actually, people "poison" themselves and the earth without any codging by the governement.

Hey, did any of you dudes have bunkers and survival gear at the ready last December?

Now, on the other hand, some dudes just don't get how bent and shady the governmet, or should I say, people in power can be. Money and power corrupts. And like everything, people get bored with their current station and look for more.....and more. So if money and power is your game........more and more. And some people have it all already, and go to extreme measures, unfathomable measures, that the average Joe just can't comprehend.

Oh shoot, who is that guy in the car across the street? Yo, I got to go........they're watching me. I'll report back later. Agent Jetty Bear out.

If you are too lazy to go to the other threads and read, then I can't help you.

This right here tells me that our discussion is not worth my time: "Global warming is a common example of "scientist" skewing data or omitting it to fit there paradigm."

97% of the worlds climatologists are all in on it and skewing data. That sounds realistic and plausible.

I guess it is just a coincidence that all the conspiracy theorists are from NJ, right? It also must be a coincidence that all these people just started regularly posting the same time archy gave his farewell speech.

No I didn't read your posts with archy. I'm too busy working all day and surfing/fishing on weekends to follow this site that closely. I totally agree that science is the key to every argument. But try not to inject emotion into your arguments too much as this discredits you (even though you may be correct). When you write someone off as a "tin foil hat wearer" you are essentially not giving them their "day in court" so to speak. Listen to them, listen to everything, challenge it, play devil's advocate. My career FORCES me to challenge conventional thought in order to put out the best possible design. I need to question all scenarios to engineer a good fire protection system. I need to ask clients tough questions and hold their feet to the fire. This is the nature of my work. It has rubbed off in my daily life.

I don't know enough about the chem trails or GMO's but I have heard and seen evidence of both. I won't write them off until I read and study them some more. In the meantime, I grow as much of my own food as I can, I eat organic as much as possible, and I try to stay away from the tap water.

Oh real quick, before I have to sneak from my home to avoid the guy in the car across the street....

9/11 is no conspiracy. Conspiracies are contingent on wild-ass speculation. There's way too much real evidence. The powers that be, at the very least, let that happen uninpeded. I can't say why specifically, but Bush Sr and his pals all made bank from it, and I think the governement became accustomed to, and has seen the usefulness of "having an 'enemy.'" With Germans and Ruskies being subdued, a new "enemy" was needed.

Thanks for a reasonable post. We are in agreement. People do a great job of poisoning themselves, so there is no reason the government would need to help. Hell, all they need to do is push for more consumption of McDonalds and Burger King, and heart disease will take care of the rest.
I also agree that there is a lot of corruption in government. I don't trust everything that comes from the old gov. Politicians are whores, selling themselves to the highest bidder.

I don't write people off if they use good source information. There is plenty of good source info on GMOs from both sides. If you come onto the site, and post a youtube video that contains no real data, you set yourself up as a "tin foil hat wearer" in the conversation.
My posts were not very emotional. In fact, old archy was the one getting emotional, like every conspiracy theorist that posts on this site. Thus, we had his farewell f*ck yous to everyone involved.

Case and point, NJAZguy. See the above response when presenting a conspiracy theorist with real data.

archy, why didn't you keep your promise and leave?
Bootleg describes the climate change doubters evidence. That link is from a very good pop-sci site, probably one of the best. Every article sites sources and gives you links to the studies. You can read and review the original data. I suggest you do more of that.

man, nobody is denying events occurring, whether chemicals on the food 98% of people eat, genetic modifying for optimal growth supplies to keep up with demand, hormones, pesticides, whatever. Its like saying that some deny animals are abused before getting slaughtered for food. I understand that happens, but I am not going to subject myself to looking at it in dumb peta handouts and whatnot because the bottom line is food is made affordable for many through these processes, attainable, healthy (see my post in other thread w/ Stanford study that proved non organic is basically as healthy as organic haha), and people are eating everything and living longer. and honestly, the last thing we need is costing businesses and food producers more money in these sketchy economic times with labeling efforts and reprints, combined with additional government oversight on the process. completely not worth it.
