well, i'll hop on the "post your team" bandwagon... slater fanning nat young jordy john john seabass mitch coleborn i feel like i need a good showing here to stay in this thing...otherwise njsurf4178 will start running away from me.
Don't worry they are both supposed to be there, no one loses in this round the winner of round one advance to the third round while the rest , of coarse, go to round two....Slater's brothers wife was having a child and he wanted to be there, don't know where Parko was, but again they are both supposed to show up today.
Parko went on some fishing trip according to Wassell. But what I don't get is that you can pretty much catch ANYTHING you want around Tahiti, so it's beyond me why he would get on a boat for a multiple day trip. Of course he could have hopped on a commercial boat for gits and shiggles.
cloudbreak or restraunts?????that is the million dollar question. i personally like JJF and Slater. although would be stoked to see Mitch win it all!
its been weird the whole time, i can see the image fine but i keep seeing scores before the webcast shows the surfers riding the waves which means that there is a delay in the feed
On at 4pm EST. Running at Restaurants again, hopefully there isn't as much wind today since the swell is supposed to be smaller.
Contest now on hold. How do they judge wave size? On the site it says wave size 4-6 feet when the waves are clearly atleast 8. What kind of nonsense forecasting/reporting do they use? The waves are far overhead.
hawaiian scale double whatever number they say and that is the size of the wave face so 4-6 is 8-12ft faces
it's probably because it'sl ike 4-6 ft at 20 something seconds. it seems like our long period swells (10-13 sec) are short by even their standards. maybe someone can quantify this
