Surfed Friday from 6-9am, Surfed Saturday 8-1pm. The finally this morning was the best! Hollow barrels all morning come noon with the tide high the waves decreased a little bit but kept its hold. Its safe to say that this weekends surf was amazing! Surfed 6am-5pm!
****ing ****. damn, eveytime there is a good swell down there, i either have work or my car is ****ed up. i hate VB
Excellent. I typically avoid the beach here on summer weekends but couldn't resist with these conditions. Great waves and plenty for everyone in spite of the crowds. Consistent stomach high barrels with the occasional chest-shoulder high set coming through. I've gotta say, this June has been a blessing for east coasters. First Andrea, and then this weekend. Hell, the whole week is looking promising right up until the 4th of July mobs come down.
Man I got cut off so many times by old men on longboards.. That's all VB is nowadays. Old know-it-alls on logs
Scored some Gulf action this weekend, choppy sloppy but rideable and decent size, it'll hold me over for a few days I suppose, nothing to write home about though
Dude as much fun as I had this weekend I encountered some appalling behavior, and not including the nice left I got snaked on before it started closing out. As I waiting for the set to pass to paddle out, there were literally 7 or 8 guys just inside the impact zone swimming with their boards trailing behind them...not even attempting to actually paddle, just swimming w/ their shortboards trailing behind them, noses pointed towards shore, and at the faces of anyone actually trying to paddle out behind them. I get ditching the board if you're about to get worked and give a quick look behind. My opinion, if ya can't make the paddle, you shouldn't be out. Anyway, just had to get that off my chest, fun sessions overall...enjoyed the sloppy summery feel to the water.
can't beat 'em join em. I was surfing the nuts off of my log this weekend, charging shore break, straight running punks over on the inside. No leash, and sat WAYYY outside. Hate on suckers.
DE was ok, nothing to write home about. I don't judge for what you want to ride, but I do judge on your ideas of where you think its appropriate. Watched this SUP who barely knew what he was doing tryin to score some waves right in the middle of everyone surfing. How he didn't hit anyone, I have no idea!!!!! I was down a bit so it didn't affect me, but come on, use a little common sense. There was another SUP down the beach a little, had the whole area to himself, smart guy!
You know what's pretty cool? My spot, somewhere south of Ship Bottom and somewhere north of Strathmere, is offering long, punchy-off-the-peak, workable walls on low tide. Then at high tide it's pitching and not playing around. Ya know what it is that I be sayin' ? Did the low tide early morning thang Friday and Sunday, and a high tide banger mission this arvo(that's Australian for afternoon). And y'all can't do anything aboot it. Sorry aboot you Virginians. Seems like a zoo down there. That's ashame. Besides today, I didn't have a cracker within 20-30 yards of me. So tuck into that one. Today I had a few squadrons of people venture oot but they didn't last too long. Dumpy wedges aren't really the best conditions for the unexperienced. Ya know what it is that I be sayin' ? Seldom, sorry ese. Man, in Jersey you still got some room to isolate yourself and breath. These other states seem horrible with limited spots and too many clowns. Well, it's in our DNA ...It's in our blood.......Cause we're stronger than the storm.... whoa oh oh oh oh.
All good holmes, I'm not stressing it...I guess it was the first time it really felt like summer in the water for me, and i suppose I coulda found a more isolated peak.
scored a solo sesh here for a few hours tonight super rippable through the out side with an inside barrel section and surfed some super bowly lefts at Man. Inlet yesterday with from 10am-8:30pm so sick weekend!
