A man takes on much responsibility when he decides to incorporate "Spicoli" into his moniker on a surf forum. You can't just be a lurker when you take on that responsibility.

I sit and admire the intelligence and lack there off from all of the genius and stupidity that I surround myself with here on this forum. I do have to admit I lurk more than I post but my allotted time is up .

    Found some waves today braddahs!!!!

Almost forgot what real waves looked like after the last 10 sessions in flat or mush. Those were so necessary though as I was getting used to the 5'10 boards and the reps on next to nothing waves are really helpful on the pop up, foot placement and initial drive.

First ride is always the best ride and it was again today. Waves were 3-5ft at 8 seconds with the occasional one jacking up. Took things up a level today with my longest and fastest rides ever down the line. Tomorrow's waves should be cleaner and I'll look to go further than halfway back up the face for the first time.

So stoked! Hope you buoys caught something good today too!!!

I think MATT JOHNSON takes the cake for most prolific, too bad he doesn't make appearances anymore. Micha as well, but that goes without saying seeing as how SI is his snot-nosed baby. I think the iterations of Bill take third based on content, allegorical writing and the occasional incitement of very deep discussion.

Sorry, but Emass hasn't really produced much content in relation to number of words written, IMO. Definitely entertaining in some ways, though.

So is this the weekend score thread now, Emass? If so, allow me to share/brag! Nice chest high sets at the local jetty at the break of dawn...only me and one other guy for an hour. Scored numerous rides before the crowd came, and like you said, all that work in the tiny mush pays off on the bigger days. I became one with my quad fin today finally, and I'm officially converted. Soooooo faaaast! I almost forgot what it feels like when a wave has a drop.

Matty brah yes post scores freely. Sounds a lot like my weekend and glad you enjoyed. The quad is definitely fast. There were a dozen at least at daybreak. Hordes kept pouring in from there. So much talent all around. It was a seriously skilled group which was great to observe in between rides. Glad you had the peak to your head to start the day!

About forgetting what the drop feels like, I think it's not so much of going weeks without any substantial swell and more having got used to chasing faux peaks that have no drop day after day for hours. Love the drop! Best part!

During the flattest days of summer here in S. Fla, we used to jump off bridges just to reaquaint ourselves with the feeling of the drop. Lost a couple of buds over the years. Flat spells will drive you to extremes. Glad ya'll caught some.

We lost so many good men out there.

    Playing with the Yankees?

Yes, on the Yankees you lose good men to trades and unruly fans. Look, I don't want to talk about it. I'm sorry.

yankme brah!!! No shenanigans in Edgartown or the surroundings to speak of. Can't outdo Joey K this time with them young wahines!!! Wasn't too far away on the sea map though. It was a magnet this morning there. Word was out. Saw more shred from daybreak to 930am than a mid-Atlantic Hindu sees in a frothy fall month. These cats were good!!! It was fun to be around it and observe while getting my own rides.

Yeah, I agree that there are certain people you see on here that pop up quite a bit or more often than others, but those are the people who keep this forum interesting (correct word to use there? LOL). Whether they are just spouting off about nothing or adding value. IMO Emass adds texture, so post on. People may not like his opinions, age, posts, etc, so when you get to his post, skip over. Anyway, does anyone know if there will be waves tomorrow? LMAO

Was wondering the same. If there are, will the water be warm enough to trunk it or should I wear my springy?

Love his posts or hate his posts, you have to admit he's doing something right to be making surfing (and posting on surf forums) his full time job. I just wonder how long it will take before moves to California and changes his name to SoCalSpicoli. I'll put the over/under at 2 years...

Emass is alright, he brings his own flavor to the forum. He's probably just having a laugh most of the time and possibly has one too many Redbulls or just really likes "uppers" which probably explains the high energy, or possibly it's an ADHD thing, who knows... I suggest using the "shopping cart method" with not only Emass but with everybody, read and retain the things you care to pay attention to and everything else just skip over and let it ride.

Someone somewhere is getting a laugh right along with him, so who are we to deny them this happiness? Emass is actually a normal dude I'm betting, probably trolling us all from the get go, I mean, who really believes he was a newbie out in 6-8, or 8-10 foot swell and on top of that brought another newbie out with him and had a death defying escape off the jetty? Let's evaluate the length of time it took us all to be able to paddle into such conditions, and to deal with that type of water moving around.

Knowing that, I think we can all assume he's either (A) A seasoned vet pretending to be a newbie / 33yr old Grom and is trolling everybody for fun or (B) Really is a 33yr old Grom / Kook and just wants so badly to be what option A is.

Either way, I say Emass is ok
