I've decided I'm going to build a board

sorry for the upside down pic but you get the idea. don't nail it together. use screws. pad the sh!t out of it and don't leave sharp or hard corners that will become a presurre point in the padding. those will dent foam. make them roughly 45" tall with a 10" - 12" pocket, but it depends on how tall you are. setup lights about 6" - 8" taller then your racks.

racks are #1 thing to start with. and easy. get lighting though. so cheap and so much better to shape with.

 

Just curious, would I be considered a "Donkey" or a "Just Learned to surf Dork"? Also curious as to which one is more favorable?

im not on sways and have never posted. i have buddies that are into it though. i'd get into reading through it though, when Bill Barnsfield was posting a lot. ultimate master in my mind. can't beat Jim Phillips advice and stories either.

like i said... definitely some donkeys lurking around SI. thats half the fun. some of the advise people throw out is like a twangy-a$s hillbilly advising people how to speak proper english. but SI also has lots of cool people whose posts crack me up and are fun to read.

i love to argue and talk about surfing. everyone in my family surfs. all we do is argue about surfing. my brothers and i would beat the sh!t out of each other over it, growing up.

i like Emass. that dude is amped on surfing and posts funny stuff. can't beat that. his spit-bag mug shot posts had me almost crying. lol. he's one of the coolest dudes on SI in my book.

everybody is building those now. fun to shape. everybody is still trying to figure them out. something new. firewire sold more of those the first month they started production then any board in one month ever.
