I found a vid of Emass' first session. It was after a latenight posting sesh on the SI forum where he was dropping ridiculous amounts of knowledge on regulars, so he was a bit tired.

Sorry, didn't read this thread. My favorite bar was The Map Room, over in Wicker Park/Bucktown. I also enjoyed Clark St Alehouse (on Clark in Goldcoast), Quenchers (Logan Square/Bucktown), Piece Pizza and Brewery (Wicker Park), and the Goose Island Clybourn brewpub (Lincoln Park).

Charged the breaks of Maine this morning in perfect weather and mild offshores with 2-5 foot swell. Had some great rides and made solid progress again. Most of all, had a blast. Changed my philosophy from "first wave, best wave" (as it was proving to be limiting) to "next wave, best wave". Made all the difference. When the punch in the waves died off in the afternoon, we kicked it with the co-eds of what the scholarly scientific community calls a "high functioning gene pool". Then was further frothed and stoked to come back to my home break for unexpected low tide surf at sunset that was jacking up to 3-5 feet for a solid half hour. I use the term jack up since we've been getting swell lately only rideable by a radio-controlled elf.

Some more stoke in the forecast through the weekend up in the Great Plains of New England waters!!!

 

That was my first thought. There are people who pay (and ridicule) homeless and other down and out folks a few bucks to perform various jackass type stunts - all in the name of laughs and entertainment.

Made the drive to RI yesterday, had some fun in the morning until a kook bailed his board instead of duck diving and dinged the **** out of my rail. Surfed the rest of the day in mushy waves on my HPSB, my legs are exhausted from pumping so damn much.

This weekend's got some promise though.
