go in winter you wont regret it, aug is still rainy season would hate to see you go on a trip and get destroyed by rain and mosquito's.

I've never been but I watch the surf on the SL HD cam down there all the time and it's almost always perfection. Seems like a great place to score waves but I wouldn't venture out too far, murders are through the roof in certain areas.

naw honduras but you know its right next door and there are great waves to be caught, but ca is firing during winter and im sorry i think your right bout el sal in winter probably isnt that good., right now you get some massive south swells heading up the coast so not all the beach breaks will hold out you know, but try as hard as you can to avoid that rain when it starts it dont stop.

During our winter the surf can be pretty small and inconsistent down there. We went in April and it was incredible. I'm sure mid to late August would be firing but since that's the best time of year on the east coast I would rather stay home.

Has anybody gone during the winter? I was thinking of going at the end of February (only time that works with my schedule and that my wife agreed too).
