Hey guys, I'm looking for a new shortboard for this fall. I am 6'3" 140 pounds and surf WW, nj.
I've been looking at FireWire, rusty, lost, channel islands, sharp eye etc but dont know what to pick because I dont know what would be best. I want this board to help me advance my surfing such as snaps, airs and things like that. What do you guys think would work?

don't focus on brand! I ride the same waves you do ( i assume you surf 2nd and 12th) and I ride a 6'2"x2.5x20 squashtail by Jon Ashton. Given the waves in WW are usually pretty mushy you are def going to want to get something a little wider through the middle. I would take that same dims as my board and maybe go to 6'0x19.5 and keep the 2.5. Why don't you contact Brian Wynn and sit down and talk then have him build you something the will work for you?

yep, screw those corporate surf kooks. are you just wanting to be like the cool dudes you see in the mags? get a board made locally.

    are you really 6'3 140?

do you surf year round? If yes then try to add a little more volume so you only have one board for the seasons. I think a Wynn variation of the basic Flyer shape would work well for you.

I surf spring summer and fall but not winter because I can't get a ride to the beach
