Alright, enough of the bashing of the South already. Some of you guys sound like a bunch of ignorant KKK members, how ironic. Again, the south has uninhabited islands. On a surfing forum, it is hard to ignore that as a major plus. Personally, I am not a fan of our republican leadership, public school systems, or the neo-confederates. However, as an independent, childless, ex-Yankee, I can deal with it to live on the warm tropical coastline. I think about you jersey boys and your crowded beaches every time I hop off the boat at Capers Island.

Yet my city was voted #1 in the world last year, and #1 in the country this year. We must be doing something right. Anyone that lumps the coastal south in with the general south has probably not spent much time down here.
As for flatness, we are on par with the east coast in general. We may not have the size that NJ or FL get, but there are plenty of days with rideable waves. Haven't surfed Capers yet, but I have spent many day out there with friends. In September, there are many days where we were the only people on the entire island. If you can't find the pleasure in that, then I would say you have different priorities in life.

 

It's not the size of the wave, it's how you use it...

Nicest place I have visited in Jersey is Cape May. Not horrible, but way too crowded. See, I hate crowds and people. It always seems difficult to avoid people in the North.
